My beloved 486 DX2 is not working. Currently it does not recognize a hard drive to boot from, however it does identify the drive if booted from a disk. I have replaced the bios battery, however my computer knowledge is limited. Would reformatting the drive work??

Yea our radio shop pulled this trick with us by locking the radio. What we did was to create a password with another radio codeplug. Saved it to the hard drive, opened it with hex edit and did a search for the password we just created. When we learned were the password was saved within the codeplug ...

I am trying to program several new CDM1550LS mobiles for our department. We have the software however it does not read the new radios. Possibly because of the new radios have a new version of the CPS.

I have had several problems programming the spectras using the 6.00 RSS. I filally resolved the issue by reinstalling the RSS from the original disks (not just copying the files right over) I am not sure if this helps, if you need and more information send me a PM.. =)

I was having the same problem. I tracked mine down to the comm port that was disabled within the stock settings in my IBM laptop. The BIOS in my computer did not allow any changes, it was all accomplished a software utility from IBM that was really hard to track down because the computer is 13 years...

I think I found the problem. IBM laptops are build with an IR port on the back, with the serial port not enabled. I found a utility using a google search that allowed me to configure the IRQ settings/disable IR port/enable Serial. Whewwwwww. Still having trouble accessing the radio however. But now ...

COM1 is selected in the settings within the RSS. I believe it is version 4.4.4 i am at work right now and cannot verify until morning. I was also wonding if the setting on the COM port need to be changed, as far as the BAUD rate, stop, etc......

Ok, my department used DTMF tones to ring down the stations. How can I program my spectra to "ringdown" when it receives the tones. I have worked in systems before that the control head blinks "call" when rang down. The code is 2200. I am using the lab software.
