Re: MotoTrbo Audible Tone Over DMR?
So I did a quick audio sweep from 290 hz to 3500 hz on a XPR5550 a couple days ago. Audio was injected into the accessory port of the XPR5550(transmit radio). The receiver was a XPR7550e. Everything setup for digital simplex. Surprisingly the XPR7550e did an excellent job of re-producing all tones w...

Re: Low RX audio on XPR7550's compared to XPR6550's
Had a similar situation with the 7550e radios and 2.07.01 firmware. The rx audio dropped drastically. Did a device recover and it resolved the issue. I created a new codeplug and all is well. Not sure if I had a codeplug issue or the device just didn't like the new firmware. I've also had to go into...

Ran into the exact problem with an XTL2500 remote mount. We had the firecom unit wired to the acc port on the control head. Moving the firecom interface to the db25 on the transceiver fixed the problem. I believe Firecom has a special cable to resolve the issue now.

The R.I.C.K should work for you in this situation. If you are on a conventional system just be cautious of using it on two repeater systems at the same time. It sounds like he needs to call Motorola and get another entitlement ID and re-regiser. If you do not have the 25khz entitlement ID enabled you must go to the trunking channel list and enable all of the channels that are greyed out, change them to 12.5 and then uncheck them to grey them out again.

The dark grey head is the newer control head. It's compatible with the XTL5000 and APX mobiles and its what you get when you order a new XTL5000 or APX. The lighter grey is the older style head which came with the XTL5000 before the APX was released. I don't know why they changed the color.
