Re: Building phase 2 contact list in APX
Type II (Motorola 3600 trunking) is not P25 Phase II. You need to set the P25 IDs in the ASTRO 25 Trunking ID section, same way you setup the trunked system as an ASTRO 25 system, not a Type II system.

Re: APX7K Volume Knob
You're welcome. The volume knob pulls straight off the shaft, although you might have to give it a good yank to get it off. You'll see the torque adder once you get it off, usually it stays pressed inside the knob. The vast majority, if not all, 7000s came with the original red H01 design. If you re...

APX portables already have a torque-adding washer underneath the volume knob. No need to make any hacky mods, simply buy a new one and replace the worn out one. 3275377H01 (red) is the standard torque adder, 3275377H02 (blue) is the high torque adder.

154 - 162 is definitely an issue for most pagers. The highest you can push a 151 - 159 Minitor V is to 159.5975. Director II's make a good NOAA pager. Check with Gerry at G&G, he usually sells them complete with the 1050 filter, battery and charger. They're obviously not programmable, but the II series is rock solid and has better reception than anything new out there.

There is no 450 - 494 split Minitor V. The closest to what you're looking for is the 462.0000 - 469.9875 split model. The lowest and highest you can push it with the PPS is 461.3000 - 470.6875, and even that gives you an out-of-band warning.

Turning pot R503 max counterclockwise would result in the squelch being wide open, which would be counterproductive when the pager is in "monitor" mode. Opening jumper 3D5 makes more sense, as it would not allow the squelch to auto-reset. The drawback to opening 3D5 is that the pager will ...
