before i rip it apart again, by unseat do you mean the pins? The pins all interconnected when I assembled it, unless you mean something else.

Hi, I got it open and I tried the foam Idea, after about 45 minutes of trying to get it sealed again, I finally got it! It worked great. New problem, when I put it on c or d (monitor F1, Scan F1/F2) There is no audio. I just hear a quick "click" then the channel opens up but there is barel...

Now I am not trying to be a total pain in your @$$ :-D - but, what would you recommend for removing the screw? I can't seem to find a bit that will fit it. It appears to be a very small allan-head wrench bit, but I can't find one small enough. What did you use?

Hello, my fire department has been looking for batteries for our minitor III's. We found a cheaper solution from Grainger, however the batteries are 1.22V and are Ni-MH, instead of the standard 1.25V Ni-CD. My question is, would this be OK? That sounds similar to what I am trying to do, it is on our command vehicle however. Could you be more specific? I am aware that I am to use the 16-pin accesory plug in the rear, but how can I plug a modular microphone plug into it & a speaker?

I forgot all about the extra mic & speaker! In fact, that is the setup we have on the now retired command vehicle with our gm300's. There will be no repeaters in the vehicle, we run a simple conventional repeater system with only 2 voters, but that's a good thought.

Turns out, I had programmed the emergency button for the zone select feature, and that was the problem. I didn't have it programmed twice, but I guess the radio doesn't want that button to do that function. Well, I reprrgrammed it for emergency, works fine now.

odd mts2000 problem

Got an odd problem here with my mts2000 uhf 450-512 type III. When I turn it on, it just stays in self test mode.....eternally. UNLESS, I press some buttons, almost like slapping somebody who is sleeping to get him up! :-D So what is the deal here?

What radio trying to read? Is the RSS AA, AZ, or LA? That error code means you are using a foreign radio. Interesting mts2000 programming error

I am having a tough time reading my mts2000. When there is no cable connected, or it's connected, and the radio is off, when I goto read the radio, I get a TIMEOUT ERROR, accordingly. When everything is connected fine, I get an INTERPACKET VIOLATION ERROR. What's the story here?

I opened up the mtsx.odb file in hex editor. I searched for every text string of 450, and edited it to 440. Do the same for whichever band you want to use.

I do have 2 of these models, but am not an expert on them. It sounds like you mixed up the polarity. I don't remember for sure, but take the rig apart, and check for yourself to see if there is a fuse.

MTS2000's have FLASHport capability, capability to upgrade to newer features (mdc, quick call...) Properly flashed mts2000's can decode & display mdc ID's. Correct me if I'm wrong....I believe a properly flashed mts can encode quick call II tones as well as decode.

How do you get the flashcode out of radio (mts2000)

I was curious to how to retrieve the flashcode out of an MTS2000, the person I am buying from said he hit squelch a number of times after start-up & got 5.65, then after pushing the side button 4 times it says flshcd 000000-0 six zeros then a dash then one more zero. I doubt the code is all zero...

It does do MDC b/c he has it enabled on TX, he just cant program it too see if it decodes, he has it programmed not to recieve mdc.

WHOOPS!! Thanks Jason. I had it grounded into a metal screw, however, that screwed into ceramic, so of course, the ground is rendered USELESS. I moved it over and everything works fine. fewwww :-D - Thanks for your help guys, even for such a minute problem.
