I've opened it up and it does appear to be the correct ASTRO saber cable. I have no idea. Could it be something in the radio intself? something in the flex internally?

I asked the seller what he used to program and it was last programmed with the latest CPS via an XP machine. I just got my replacement aftermarket RIB today with the same results. I have no idea why it won't read.

Have a model 1 (no display) and i can't for the life of me get the LED to blink green when scanning or get the radio to emit the Scan Tone to notify the user that scan is enabled. For some reason its not showing in my codeplug. The only thing that is visible is "display peer location". I've made sure "expert view" is also on. If anybody wants to view the codeplug i can send it to them just so i know i'm not completely losing my mind.

Have a 7000 model III with 1282k0-810102-5 as the flashcode. It show GPS enabled when decoding it but I can’t “find enable GPS” in radio wide in the CPS or add LOC as a menu item. Am I missing something?

Found the issue. For some reason when I plugged in that particular unit it wouldn't work properly as a network device like it should have. I had to right click on the connection and enable. I've never seen an APX "disable" the network when plugging it in. Thanks!

Unknown about that but quite possible now that I think of it. Would there be an error in the CPS or would I just get the "Could not locate radio connected to usb?

APX7000 recognized but won't read/write
Have a model 3.5 on the bench. Computer will recognize the usb cable and radio being plugged in but CPS will not read the radio. Says no radio found. Multiple other APX7000's/8000's read/write with no issues. Any ideas?

Been away from radios for awhile. I know you have to physically open up the O2 head and disconnect the speaker wire from the terminal if you want to disable the internal speaker. Is this still the case or has there been any firmware updates that allow you to do this via CPS?

Does anybody know if the 8000 has tricolor LED's on the keypad like the 7000's? Mine does not turn red with low battery like the keypad on my 7000 did. However the top display turns RED and the red low battery flashes across the display just no keypad color change.

just got a 7500 with an o7 head. Please see video. When powering up unit you'll hear a loud hum and then no audio. Alert tones/keypad tones nothing, unit receives traffic but no audio. This happens even when not connected to radio drawer. I then attached an o5 head to the unit and it works perfectly...

I've searched and searched. I can't for the life of me get my xtl5000s to mute the annoying MDC data burst. System is using post ID. Tried a low cost time and high. Neither one is changing the length of the mdc burst.

Can you use motorola part number HKN6161A to program from the rear accessory port? XTL W series are popping up for pretty cheap and looking to see if I could purchase this cable instead of the W series mic port cable. I realize this wouldn't program 110 watt units. UPDATE:
I traced the power to the fuse right above where the control head plugs into the brick. Its the fuse. I placed a jumper and unit powered on no issues.
next question is how can i replace this as it is soldered.
