MDC upgrade for Kenwood
Has anyone heard an update on Kenwood's plans to offer MDC-1200 for 80/90 series mobiles and portables? I called and spoke with a tech at Kenwood (actual corporate Kenwood) about a year and a half ago about this and he said that it was in testing and that it would likely become a standard feature af...

Part Number for DES-XL XTS3000?
I'm sure this is asked and answered but, I searched and didn't find exactly what I need to know. I need to know the part number(s) for the DES-XL module(s) for the XTS3000. From another post I got the number NTN8254. That post is from Batdude. Is this the part I need. I'll be running analog DES-XL a...

Many local firefighters work several weeks if not months a year fighting wildland fires, primarily in the western US. The Bendix/King user programmable radios rule supreme. Most duty tours begin with a communications officer programming firefighters radios with the freqs of the day. Many times frequ...

Analog/Digital per channel?
Does the XTS 3000 support analog and or digital on a per channel basis? I may or may not be asking this right, can you have a channel, let's call it channel 1, that you are using for digital operation on a unit to unit basis, can you monitor analog traffic on the same freq? In other words, can you i...

This is a used unit that didn't come with a hang up box. Can I use a typical hang up box from another radio? Where do the wires from the hang up box go? Don't mean to sound stupid but, I don't think I have ever used the factory hang up box in a Maratrac installation, of course this is the first HHCH...

Maratrac HHCH Question
I've got a Maratrac hand held control head install that only scans in carrier squelch. I've changed the RSS settings to disable the CSQ scan and I've programmed the off hook scan to disable. It still scans in CSQ and picks up distant traffic (great ears on that thing.) The mic hook is grounded and t...

Not another military Hummer for me. Too much like work. It beats the crap out of you when you're driving it to. Jaqx

Spectra Error Code FL 08/10 ??
VHF A9 Spectra with siren giving error code FL 08/10. Won't TX, RX is fine. Siren not working either.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I saw the error code list on the Spectra page. The clostest thing was FL 06/10. That was for a dual head radio (I think.)
All help appreicated.

I think what nmfire10 is wanting to do is take his digital handset in his house and have decent service.
