Re: APX 7500 Color Display/Secure Selection
Thanks, I'll have to try one of our 05 heads and see if works there. You would think it would say in the help file, "true when 05 head present" or some such nonsense. I didn't think the color display would work on the 8000 anyway.

APX 7500 Color Display/Secure Selection
I've been stuck on 2 issues that I haven't been able to figure out or find anyone who knows the answer to. Re: Astro25 Astro system select
You are absolutley correct, I didn't think about that. The radio in question is an FPP radio. That was the issue, I tried using personality 255 and it changed from 2 to 3 with no problem. I completley forgot about it being an FPP and reverting back to 1. Thank you very much Mike!!!!

Astro25 Astro system select
I haven't had to make any changes in this area in a long time and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I am trying to set up another Astro ID number for use on a new conventional frequency. Right now the radio has 2 astro systems in conventional mode. One has ID 2331 and the other has ID 9544. ...

Re: KVL Error code - Resolved
Just in case anyone else runs into the same problem, I forgot to turn on PID Key Management. It is not required for software encryption, but it is needed for hardware. As soon as I checked the box and tried keyloading again, it went fine.

KVL Error code
I got an error using a T3014DX keyloader. I am attempting to keyload an XTS5000 with DVP-XL using the TDN9390C cable. It previously had DVP-XL loaded into it and it worked fine. Then for a while I had swithced to software based ADP encryption and was using that for a long time. I then needed to go b...

Re: Encryption Help
Wow, That was a great explantion Mustang. That cleared up a lot of my questions, thanks a million. However, it appears that we won't be getting any more Harris stuff, and will strickly be Motorola in the future, with the plan being to eventually move everything to software based ADP encryption. This...

Encryption Help
I am using about 5 Astro Sabers, Astro Spectras and 1 XTS5000 with DVP-XL currently installed, loaded and working on a P25 Conventional system. These were keyloaded by someone else, as I don't have a clue about encryption, obviously. We now have a P7100 and are possibly getting a few more. However, ...

Re: XTS5000 DVP-XL / ADP Software Encryption
Any one seen DVP/xl modules for an XTS2500? The motorola spec sheet states it is an option but I have not been able to find a part number anywhere. Thanks Here is the list of modules for the XTS2500. Does not appear tthat DVP-XL is offered. PMLN4924 Model 1.5 AES-256 PMLN4925 Model 1.5 DES DES-XL D...

Re: Astro Saber with MTSX LAB?
That did it. I don't know what I was doing wrong, but your step by step instructions did the trick. Thanks again, now I have a backup in case of another codeplug disaster! I am going to save all of the AS's s files from each one I have. Not too long ago I was programming one of the astro saber...

Re: Astro Saber with MTSX LAB?
Sorry to sound so dense on this guys, but when I try to save it to archive/srecord, it asks for a disk filename. No matter what I type in there it says record not found. Is there a certain format or extension I need to put on the end? Am I doing it correctly by first doing the F4 read without pack/u...

Re: Astro Saber with MTSX LAB?
Todd, When I do the F4, read/write with no pack/unpack, it reads the radio. Then I go F10, F6 Archive/S record disk files. It tehn asks for a disk filename and I can't seem to save it. If I try to do an F7, save codeplug, it says there is no codeplug in memory. Am I doing something wrong in the arch...

Astro Saber with MTSX LAB?
After searching a numerous amount of posts, I have read about using MTSX LAB with an imbe astro saber. Will the MSTX LAB, version 02.00.01 work with the astro saber? If so, is it any different than using astro lab? Also, will astro lab B03.04 work for both the saber and the spectra?

Re: XTS5000 DVP-XL / ADP Software Encryption
Great, thank you guys for the help. That puts things in a much clearer perspective. I don't really prefer one algorithm over the other, it's just like I said, all my other stuff is loaded with DVP-XL. It would be a bigger hassle to change everything to DES-XL or OFB, and then try to get the keyloade...

Re: XTS5000 DVP-XL / ADP Software Encryption
That makes sense. So the ADP encryption is it's own algorithm and is not compatible with DVP, DES, or AES, correct?
Also, is the DVP XL just an uncommon algorithm and that's why it's so hard to find?
Thanks,
Greg

XTS5000 DVP-XL / ADP Software Encryption
I have an XTS5000 Mdl III P25 and have been trying to find a DVP-XL module for it. I was wondering about the ADP software flash upgrade. Is the ADP it's own algorithm, or can it do DVP-XL? I have several astro sabers and spectras with DVP-XL already loaded, therefore, DES and AES will not work for m...

Re: Keyloading an Astro Spectra Dash Mount
Excellent. I was already figuring how much garbage I was gonna have to go through to take the radio out, make it remote again, then redo the whole porocess in reverse once it was done. Thanks a lot. Greg.

Keyloading an Astro Spectra Dash Mount
I have an 800 MHz Astro Spectra that was a remote mount radio and has been converted to a dash mount. The radio has multikey encryption and currently has 2 keys loaded which I use with an astro saber. I have a couple other radios that have encryption modules and need to keyload them as well. I have ...

H14 on Astro Saber
Can anyone tell me if the Astro Saber with H14 will do alias ID display. My XTS5000 shows the names (if I have them saved in my call list) instead of the id number. My Astro Saber only shows the number, regardless of whats in the call lists. It does not show names in Digital Conventional, Digital Tr...

Astro IMBE Project 25 Question
I have a stupid question. Can anyone tell me the difference between Project 25 and Astro 25? I was reading about some new systems using P25 and was unclear if this was the same as APCO 25, IMBE, ASTRO 25...etc, etc. Will the Astro Saber work on Project 25? How about the XTS5000? Thanks for the clari...
