Before you give up, if you have not already sent the radio off to Will, try doing a reset of the microprocessor. As if you were replacing the command board.
That should fix the problem.

From your description, it sounds like a bridge rectifier module. To confirm that's what it is, you should be able to check the diodes inside by doing a front-to-back resistance check, or, if your DVM has a diode position, that will work too. A good diode will show 0,6V forward drop. A bad one, 0V. S...

A trick I used on a 450-470MHz UHF spectra to get its VCO to lock below 442 was to carefully tack solder a little more length on the stripline exposed in the window. I took a 1/16W film resistor and tack soldered the end of its lead on the end of the stripline. Then, I bent it back, making a small l...

Up to 25 zone lists and corresponding scan lists. One of the reasons being zone capable is so important. Instead of only one scan list of 16, you can have 16*16 or 256 possible selections. Yes, it is just an A5 control head. If the old one is not an enhanced head (HLN6337 or 6338), you may need to modify the interface board that sits between the head and the radio if its a dash mount, before you replace the head. You'll cook the audio IC chip if you don't. Look on the spectra pages as...
