Re: What is the best UHF connector?

Thanks for the replies guys. We don't use PL259, at all. That's what I meant by 'shoot on sight' I ordered the Cambridge part from Mouser and received Emerson Power CPL2591 parts, made in Taiwan. I guess we know who bought the Cambridge tooling for that part. Anyway, I'll try these and keep looking....

Re: What is the best UHF connector?

Thanks for the ideas. I got excited for a minute when I saw the Cambridge line, but it would appear, much like Kings, that the part has been discontinued. We've tried Pasternack, RF industries, Amphenol, no-name offshore, and Emerson power. They all 'get the job done' but I'm looking for the highest...

Hi, I have to deal with a lot of marine VHF equipment, and now that King's / Winchester is no longer making UHF connectors, I'm having a hard time finding a quality replacement for those connectors. Aeroflex 3550 demod audio?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to route analogue FM demod audio to the handset?

The manual has lots of nice pictures on battery change procedures but very little actual substance for using the tool.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

I haven't used the latest version of the R8000, so take that into consideration. I'm very happy with the 3920, and so are my colleagues that have them. I think in this case, you're getting what you pay for.

Schematic for Aeroflex AC25007 ?

Hi,

One of our 2975's has lost its little buddy, the AC25007 audio interface box. The pinout for the audio port on the test set is in the manual and it looks pretty straight forward. Has anyone got a schematic or even a photo of the inside of one of these handy?

Thanks,

And how do you find the manufacturers' web sites? There aren't really that many players in the game. MRT and Mobile Radio Resource equpiment buying guide issues can be pretty handy as well. Overall, I'd have to say that a good relationship with the local test equipment vendors works well for me.

The 3500 is a nice tool. I think it's like a swiss army knife - good at many things, but not really excelling at any of them. It will never replace a bench set, but for a rugged field-portable unit, you're not going to find anything as useful this side of a 1200S with a Return Loss Bridge ;) I looke...

The wire feeding the fuse block is too small, or has some high-impedance connections in it. When you key the radio, you start drawing lots of current, which develops a voltage drop across the wire or bad connection. This drops your available volts too low, and the radio resets. I see this all the ti...
