What I usually do in that case, once I have cloned it to the new radio, I then close the codeplug in the software then read the newly cloned radio. Change the ID then write it back to the radio with the normal programming, not cloning.

Not that I have been able to get to work. The annoying part is that Connect Plus uses the option card and a different software to program that card. If anyone remembers back to the passport trunking days, same sort of kinda badly planned out integration into the radio.

From what I remember, you can not delete all of the LS trunking repeaters without generating another error. So, you should have 1 trunking repeater in there somewhere that needs to be set to narrow band.

If there is anything connected to the accessory connector, make sure that none of the speaker output pins are grounded. I had a bus radio do that do me on a swap out one time, the speaker they already had was grounded.

I just downloaded it from http://www3.telus.net/PassiveRF/ and had no issues getting it to run on my windows 10 computer. I ran the installer in compatibility mode for windows xp SP3. It did require running the installer as an admin as well.

I kind of remember if the MIN and ESN on a passport option card in our CDM's did not align with the system operator's records, our radio would say disabled on the screen. It could be there is a passport zone setup on the radio and he bumped a button to move into that zone.

From what I recall it is not glued into the case. It is held in by a chrome metal clip sort of thing. Pretty straight forward to get out once you have the radio apart.

I used to use warris series HT1250 impress batteries on an XTS2500 a lot. You do not get a battery gauge on the XTS2500 radio using this setup.

From what I recall, a jumper from pin 4 to pin 10 will make the radio turn on as soon as it gets power, assuming you have ignition switch enabled and are not using the alarm out function. You should be able to jumper the ignition sense pin to one of the other pins in the connector on the back to power it on. I will have to dig around to see if I can find what 2 pins those are. I am not seeing any way to do that in the CPS on a CDM1250. On a CDM1550 it seems to be hard coded into the left and right arrow buttons, but those do not exist on a CDM1250.

On the plug that came installed in my remote head MCS2000, pins 1 and 2 are jumpered. There is also a jumper from pin 4 to pin 9. If I pull the plug out, the speaker quits working, so I assume one of these jumpers makes it work. It is not a model 3 head though, I think it is a model 2 head.

The A version of the cable uses a ground on the circular set of contacts on the side of the xpr6550. The xpr7550 does not have that connector on the side of the radio. Both mods should work fine. currently, we are using 8 talk groups on a passport trunking system. The SL is overkill, but the constant complaint from our staff is radio size and weight. The passport operator is adding a connect plus system in our area, so it seemed like a good time to replace our fleet of radios.
