Just curious, do both rx and tx error when trying out of band? I know the mtr2000 uses a resistor array in the pa to determine band, it may be the same with the 3000.

Try Kurt Graber from KG electronics. He fixes these older boxes. Could be anything from a power supply going south to a failure in one of the modules.

Well, 0.8k deviation is not very much, even if narrow band. I just looked at a uhf mtr with low and distorted audio for a local club. The issue was found to be in the control board. replaced it, full audio.

I believe you would have to use lab to reflash the model number of one of the radios to match the other one, before a clone could take place. Otherwise you are stuck cutting/pasting. Pretty sure. I know, pain in the butt.

You need to read, and reread, your donor eproms. Until you get the same checksum more than once. Then you need to take a BLANK eprom, and reprogram it with the donor information. Then compare bits with your originals, that all match. As above, there are several different vintages, not all versions w...

Did you test with the proper charger to see if this behaviour is consistant or just related to your aftermarket charger? And no, you shouldnt have to power down to charge the battery. However, a friend of mine has an SL300 with similar charging issues.

I expect that the control cable is a simple db25 to db25 straight through extension cable, as you can simply also just plug both the A3 and W3 hHCH directly into the radio. So I would have to guess that yes they are the same. This thread probably does not belong in the buy and sell, though.
