Dumbing down an IMPRES charger to charge a too-low voltage battery
Hi, everyone. I've got some NOS NNTN6034A batteries that are apparently so low in voltage that the IMPRES charger won't actually initialize them. I've tried a bunch of times so far but each of the batteries goes from steady flashing yellow for a few minutes to rapid flashing red. I've read that if I...

List of APX speaker-mics that work with full features on the XPR
Hi, everyone. I used to interchange my APX speaker mic with my XPR portable when I was bouncing back and forth between agencies. I wanted to know if anyone has a definitive list of the APX speaker-mics that work fully with the XPR line?

Need a definitive answer on APX & 25 kHz spacing
Can someone tell me definitively whether or not an APX radio that DOES NOT have the "Q507 - 12.5 kHz FCC Mandate" will allow a conventional channel to be programmed with 25 kHz spacing throughout its entire operating frequency range?

Hello, all. So we had an APX8K that we thought was lifted from one of our vehicles maliciously so I inhibited it. HT1250 turns off when PTT pressed (both on RSM and radio)
Hello, all. The Waris series is very familiar to me but I have never come across this problem before. My coworker gave me his VHF HT1250 and told me it was shutting off whenever he transmits. I have it in my possession and it is doing exactly that. Whether I use the PTT on the radio itself or on the...

Re: Programming a remote head XPR 5550
I am surprised you didn't get a reply to this already. On the radio unit itself, there are two plugs. One where the remote head cable plugs in, and another that is a standard USB Type B plug (like the almost square one but with beveled corners - usually come with printers). All you need is a USB-B t...

I'll never understand why they have it setup like they do. My part time job runs a conventional 800MHz system which really isn't ideal for the layout of the town. There are some drastic elevation changes and the site of the tower is further not ideal. This is a police department in a decently populated town and we are pretty busy. This question was asked t...

Even if you could, why would you want to? The PA isn't built for that, the radio isn't certified for that, you will dramatically increase power consumption, and you aren't going to dramatically increase performance even if you double the power (that's 3dB). My part time job runs a conventional 800M...
