Key Button Press Test Mode

I feel bad asking this question because I've seen the answer here before. I just can't find it now. In the XTS-3000, there is a test mode where the number of the button pressed on the keypad is shown in the display. The test mode is similar to the 5 key presses in 10 seconds, but it's different. Doe...

Need Help Programming a Maxtrac w/SJI LTR mod

All, I bought a 800 MHz Maxtrac on eBay to use as a control channel monitor. Come to find out, it has the SJI LTR firmware installed. Fortunatly, my local LMR shop was able to program the radio, but I want to be able to do it myself. Are the PGM-2 boards from SJI still available? If so, where? I loo...

XTS3K Test Mode Button Sequence

Hello all.
What is/are the key sequence(s) to test the buttons on an XTS3000? I remember once the sequence is entered, the radio reports in the display which button number was pressed.
Thanks,

Larry,
It sounds like those little "RF's" might get confused travelling around in all those circles!
OTOH, as long as it happened to the onces coming down the antenna and not the ones going to the antenna, that would be a good thing! :)

Isn't DES-OFB Output FeedBack.
As compared to DES-CFB or CipherFeedBack.
If I'm not mistaken, this the difference between DES and DES-XL.
I could be wrong, though.

I don't have CPS installed on this computer or else I'd look. But, I thought I remembered a screen in the ASTRO personality where you could define alerts for Low or Marginal RSSI.
Perhaps this is what you're refering to.

Good luck on the project. I didn't think it would work until I saw USGOVTECH's post about modifing the radio to pass DC. All, I've got an XTS-3000 with the partial keypad (6 buttons). The top 3 buttons have developed a problem where when they are pressed, the radio does not "see" the keypress. Have others had this problem? Is it with the flexi connector going from the keypad into the radio, or is it generall...

Skeptic

I'm one of the skeptics. My bets are on that it won't work. The 4-level FSK being the reason. It potentially "could" work by using an ASTRO radio to turn the ASTRO data back to audio, then take that audio and send it out on the transmit radio. It could work but the problem would be very di...

CQPSK

I thought CQPSK was going to be used for the second phase of P-25. I've been out of the P-25 development loop for a while, but I thought it was going to give 1.25 KHz deviation with 6.25 KHz channel spacing.
Am I wrong here?

You did say everything is the same, but you might want to double check the NAC and talkgroups are the same.
BTW, do you get the receive LED on the one where you don't hear anything?
IIRC, the radios have to be with 500 Hz of the desired RF frequency in order to work properly.
