Updated JEDI Software

I heard a rumor that their is JEDI software floating around that is Windows Based. Supposedly a HAM operator made it up...anyone know of this? I along with everyone else would love to get my hands on it.

Thanks PJ, you just saved me from checking for a printed version on the board! The radio works good, so I'll leave well enough alone and peel the sticker off of the outside so it doesn't look suspicious. Anyway, thanks for answering my questions.

Astro Spectra Serial number

I recently bought a used Astro Spectra and noticed the Serial Number in the CPS doesn't match the Serial number on the case...which leads me to believe the S/N can somehow be changed...any idea how? I don't like the audio quality with the companding turned on (full compression). In short I set the compression to AGC mode and found that on the fire-ground with alot of back ground noise this works the best. AGC also sounds better when talking with a mask on than having compression mode disabled. ...

Most radios

Most radios have the option of keying up before, after or both. The Jedi series, the Astro radios, the Pro Series all key up that way.

I recieved an email from Nick Deluca over some other issues and while I had contact with him, I asked him about his customer records and according to him: Motorola didn't get any customer information from him...he left no paper trail at all. XTS 3000 XTS 3500 XTS 5000 AND ASTRO SABER

The XTS 3500 and XTS5000 both have better receive than the AS3. Check out the published specs. (and yes, I have tested these). I'd check your front end alignment if it is a UHF radio. I own both an XTS and an AS-3 and side by side in poor areas the AS3 works and the XTS just give the out of range signal. As for size, do want one too thick or too tall? XTS 3000

I bought an XTS 3000 Type 3 from Nick and got the same treatment, very slow to respond to Email at first but he delivered an excellent radio and after the initial contact problems everything went smooth...I i will deal with Nick in the future.

Unfortunatly the Astro Spectra's don't like too go out of band. I use a 500 mhz Astro Spectra and tried to get it to recieve on 460mhz and I could get the software to accept the frequency but the radio would not recieve it. No luck with the VHF Astro Spectras either.

I never heard of an Astro Spectra decoding MDC. Hello, Elroy can you answer this one? As far as stepping down the Maxtrac and the GM-300 is virtually the same radio. Get a GM-300 it's easier to take out of band...and my 1250 (7150) works equally good on pre and post ID. I'm still not sold on these radios yet, though.
