Larsen Mirage or any low profile mobile antenna any good?
Does anyone have any experience with substituting a low profile disc antenna like the Larsen Mirage for a unity gain 1/4 wave whip? Thanks, Bill.

Does anyone know if the radio will have problems if turned down in output to say 60 watts? Any ideas on what higher output level might be ok assu...

I just set up a CM300 uhf for the first time and it is interesting. It decodes MDC ids and allows you to change pls and dpls through the menu on the radio. Even at the lowest settings the audio tones are loud. It has a variable backlight setting which is nice. I think for a small speaker it sounds g...

We have only tried midian once and transcrypt once. The Midian was used on an HT1250 and a CDM1550 and we had nothing but problems. (rolling code encryption). We then went to Transcrypt using an HT1250 and an HT1000 and it works really well! The Transcrypt was a little more but we would never go bac...

Encryption for CDM1550 and HT1250 series
Hi. We had a local radio shop try to outfit our CDMs and HTs with Midian rolling code modules but they couldn't get them working well. The shop called Midian and they said that they would work better if we had the radios firmware upgraded. Any ideas on other encryption boards that might work better ...

M120 as good as Maxtracs for small repeater
I have always used Maxtracs, Radius and GM300s to make little repeaters with the 16 pin connectors. Can the same be done with the M120s? They seem less expensive. If so, are they as good for that type of setup? Thanks, Bill
