I will find out when i finish programming, all I have is a T3011DX. FWIW I can keyload my APX's with the T3011DX so I wouldn't think it would be an issue.

I don't know about never get better but you will definitely never get more. Fantom Dynamics has been working on a phone case multiband radio for a long time now, but their newest rendition leaves a lot to be desired IMHO. I can't see anyone actually using it. Also just to rule it out... I don't see any indications of a Sierra Module in the service menu or CPS... That was my first concern.

What is the latest Astro25 UCM Firmware? I was thinking it was R05.07.xx
But....
I just picked up one of these ex-DC Police XTS5000's on ebay and it has DES-XL/OFB. The UCM Firmware is showing to be R07.11.10 both in test mode and in CPS.

Anyone ever had a problem with a loose control top on an APX7000 non/XE model? If I press up on the volume control side with my thumb there is about 1/4" of flex exposing the internal electronics. It also causes the radio to hang up while inserting it into the carry holster and forcing it would...

Has anyone tried using an XTL1500 as a VRS connected to a different-band radio? I am using a UHF VRS750 right now with my VHF XTL5000 O5. I would like to run secure P25 for my VRS and a Futurecom DVRS is cost-prohibitive.

Well this is a stab in the dark as I don't know much about the desktracs, but since your FSOFT light is lit up and it is transmitting continuously, could this be a former trunking repeater from a small Startsite system that is in failsoft mode due to the system controller no longer being connected? ...

Yep.. I am using channel steering.
I am now leaning more towards an issue with the XPR7550 rather than the VRS750. I programmed the channels into my XTS5000 and it works perfectly with that radio, but it has recently been aligned.

Am I correct in assuming that if I have an XTL5000 with a UCM in a 3-day carrier board, and I enable Infinite Key Retention in CPS, it will keep the keys until I manually erase them?

They program with DOS software and they are an absolute pain in the @$$ to work with.
