Hi SG,
If you can find the tool to undo the FAIL 01/93 error on an MTS2000 we need to talk. I believe I have a radio that needs this.
Thanks, BJ

Problem never was fixed. Radio is sitting on my office floor with 3 other good ones.
I might send it away to be fixed, don't know yet. I do know that it can't be fixed without digging deep into it.
Thanks to all who helped with this problem.

Re: Noob XTL questions about remote mounting
Tried them both, makes no difference. Wonder if it's a firmware issue? This particular radio doesn't have the newest firmware.
I found a chart awhile back that told what each firmware update changed. Gonna try to dig it up and read it again.
Thank you!!

Yes, I get that. When I key the mic the transmitter keys but doesn't tx any audio, just a dead carrier.

I received the extension cable yesterday.
What do I change in the CPS to pass mic audio directly into the 110 watt drawer? Right now it only keys the transmitter, no audio.

Re: XTL 5000 TX PROBLEM
I tested another xtl5000 and an xtl2500 that I received today.
FWIW the 5000 showed -69hz off the programmed freq. The 2500 showed -20hz off the programmed freq of 166.12500
Supposedly the 2500 was aligned shortly before I got it. They both sound great on receiving radios.

Reference oscillator took the changes. I even set it off from the test freq and tried that one time. That made no difference on how far off freq the radio transmitted from the programmed freq.

Yes there is a Motorola VHF VRS for the standard UHF Spectra.. I use one and it works well, just not as many features available to program as the newer VRS-EP models made for the Astro Spectra.
