This question has to do with fusing the ground. Is this only neccessary when going directly to the battery negative? I am under the impression that this is to provide a safety factor in the event that the bond between the batt. negative and the chassis opens, thus using the radio neg. wire to conduc...

I should clarify the application in mind. I want tobe able to kill a fully loaded 20A circuit. I was experimenting today by remotely faulting a GFI with an SCR, works well. I want to kill a wire pulling machine. The operator of the machine can not hear anything. Im talking about pulling say 4 -750 M...

Remote switching question
Hmmm, I had an idea last night after sombody nearly got injured at work yesterday. What I want to do is switch a 20 A. outlet remotely by radio ( no power available at the transmitting end). I was thinking along the lines of FRS radios. About no more than 1000' distance, but possibly between floors....

Hmmmmm, found this while crawling. Ons step past facinator? INDICTOR is a half duplex embeddable COMSEC device used to secure digital voice or data traffic. How do I search for?
I seem to remember that I could do this once upon a time, but I'll be dammed if I can remember how. Here's the problem. I get on Batlabs, it says that there are 200 new posts. I start slogging through them, then my internet connection drops me . When I get back on there are no new posts. How can I u...

HT 1000 RSS question
Same question as Station House but for the ht 1000. What kind of message do you get when you use an older version of RSS than the radio is currently programmed with? AND is there a workaround? Can the radio be de programmed ( if there is such a word). Then reprogrammed with the older version? TNX. i...

XTS3K Monitoring
I know that this has been addressed before, but if I may, I would like to take it a level simpler. I would like to monitor a type II UHF with an XTS3k. Can I program the freqs into a conventional personality, then either disable transmit or put the Xmit freqs on some nonused ham freq. Then just put ...

The two programs that I use for the 96 are: Win96 and Trunkstar. They are both very similar. You need something that will program multiple base freqs because you can only program simple setups from the keypad. I understand that this is not exactly what you were asking, but just kinda/ sorta on topic...

Moto RIB for Bendix?
I'm in the process of makeing an RS232 to TTL converter to program my Bendix armada, using a MAX 232 chip (similar to one of the converters posted on this board) . Has anyone used a Moto RIB to program BK's ? If so, any details would be very much appreciated. J.B. AD6WX Post hoc ergo procter hoc.
