if you have a saved codeplug from that radio you should be able to recover i have done it before failing that a new srecord

i have the astro25 /asn one and this works fine you will need to select asn mode for it to work another problem i come across is the diffrent xts3000 firmwares and des boards firmware if you have a 5.6 xts3000 firmware and a des enc of 3.55 you can only have 1 key the best combos of firmware are xts...

i have had no problems with cps 17 and firmware r17 i have up dated to r17.00.02 and still no problems on xts2500

i did relise i can add keys i have setup multikey 4 keys
i am using a kvl3000+ it will only load 1 key i suspect that the r5.6 in the radio and the emc 3.55 encryption moduel will not allow it
i have another radio with same code plug and it works. it is a r5.6 in radio and emc 2.12

the module in the 7.10 is a emc 3.55
i have had the emc3.55 in the r 5.60 radio and still only 2 keys

surely some should know this ?

XTS3000 Multikey operation i have a xts3000 with firmware r5.60 and a des xl board with emc r2.12
how many keys can be loaded i can only load 2 with kvl3000+
i suspect the firmware limits it to 2 as i have a xts3000 with r 7.10 and it does 16 keys

Has anyone had SUPER long download times to write to an XTS5000 with 17? Using serial cable RKN4106A we are getting between 4:40 to 5:00 mins to write the Codeplug. The Firmware of the units are a sample of what we have.. 12.00.13 and 16.00... Carter Yup, noticed that as well as saving and opening ...

Had no problems with firmware up date the cps now has a soft high low power selection option people may be interested that this function works on a 4 meg radio r9.00.41 so i suspect it may work from that firmware up till the latest i did notice it took a little longer to program the 4 meg radio poss...

the xts3000 wont do p25 9600 baud control channel which the nsw grn you can program conventional only and scan them

R7. I used it before to upgrade an R12 to R16 but for some reason this Radio will not take it is that r 7 software the speical version and have you upgraded the tuner section to a much newer version ? you could try the zapflash method (using cps 16)this forces the firmware into it i have bricked a ...

i assume you have the cps for programming it if so i can give you a cp that will give you rx

q806 should let you do conventional p25 i dont know much about rebanding but it could be some thing to do with that
if you lokk around on the internet there is a tool which allows you to change flashcodes but it is dangerous if use incorrectly

i have done some tests and it appears that the sms is protected when in secure mod

if secure (adp encryption) is selected on the frequency you are using are the sms transmitions protected

i can vary a bit some go to 442 and other are struggling to go to 438 but i have found that most will go to 440

i have had a lot of trouble with com ports i found a usb to serial converter thats works found on ebay it a ch341 usb to serial i have tryed the prolific usb to serial and it gave errors

i have done the zapflash (r9.00.28 dsp 16.00.01 )method to a panter8888 4 meg radio with no problems i did read cp with cps 16 and then wrote it back before update. the zapflash update does note update tuner but radio works fine
i even bricked the radio but got it back to life !

you will also need a slow computer as the dos software is very sensitive to it will work under win 98 prompt in most cases

search for hex 80 74 D2 1A and replace with 80 47 A1 19 this should allow it to go to 430 mhz
i have modified all most every cps for extended freq coverage with no problems
