P1755A suitcase AS AVA

I have an P1755A suitcase AVA, will a AS VHF model II work in it? When I plug the radio in all I get is the charging indicator, when I push the PTT you can hear a soft click but nothing else. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Astro Spectra VHF W9 Question

I'm getting my feet wet and having some difficulty in getting my radio to scan, I've setup a scan group and enable a key on the head but no joy. Is scan normally incorporated in the radio or is it a flash enabled feature? BTW using CPS.

Today (Tuesday 12/9) on ABC Nightly New during one of the war stories out of Iraq a US soldier was shown taking his mil FRS off his webbing and talking on it. Sure looked like an FRS including the jazzy color scheme.

Check the FCC rules for the Taxicab Radio Service. My recollection is that repeaters are not allowed, except with a specific rule waiver, which may bet hard to get. Look at their license and see what the base station class is, FBsomething. The actual mechanics of a repeater may be the easiest part. RC

Haven't changed the programming in about 2 years, radio has operated fine until today. Get the fail in the 462., 451, and 444 bands. The fail rate is faster in 444 and slower in 451.

My UHF Spectra (mid power) today started flashing a fail 001, about every 5 seconds. I've done a power reset but still flashes. Any ideas? BTW its used as a control station, indoors on an Astron supply.

Search the FCC database at http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/reports/index.cfm
You cab search by any number of criteria, you will find that frequency is licensed in the IG service. There are several pages of assignments throughtout Texas listed.
