Any secret to un-brick it? The seller offered me a refund but I kinda want to keep it.

XTS3000 fails to finish self test
Today my XTS3000 was delivered from an Ebay purchase. Radio was well packaged and looked to be in excellent shape. I attached an Impress battery to it and the screen icons flash briefly, no beep then nothing on the screen. The indicator light on top remains on, lit green. I tried to put it in test m...

Re: Anybody evr flush mount (split) motorola speaker
I know this is an older post but I've had luck taking the split half of the speaker and putting it on a copier. Take the copy and tape it on the console as a template.

Re: CDM 1250 EPROM error
Sorry it took so long for me to post. I tried loading another codeplug from an identical radio. That did the trick. It's been ok since then. Thanks for the advice.

Re: CDM 1250 EPROM error
I was able to get to power back on. It had the EPROM CS ERROR once it powered back on. I was able to do the recovery thing again. Now it shuts off and back on every 2 minutes.. As I type, it froze again.

CDM 1250 EPROM error
I researched this a little and got a partial fix. My radio came up with EPROM error after changing some PLs. I upgraded to CPS version 06.12.02 and found the error window, I did recover and it came back to life with the generic codeplug. I walked away for dinner and when I came back the buttons were...

CDM 1250 accessory pinout question
I was playing around with the CDM software and discovered the selectable digital and analog pins for my CDMs. Can anyone tell me the voltage out on a digital pin? I want to try to use a micro-controller like an arduino or basic stamp to control functions like turning on house lights or opening garag...

GTX power up
I have a GTX model M11WGD4CB1AN. When I pwer it up the display flashes for a second then goes out. Right now there is no accessory plug. Do I need to give 12v to a pin on the plug to get it to stay on? I'm also never going to use it. I'd be willing to part with it for short money if it works. I hate...

Re: impres gang charger malfunction
Good questions. I, however made a mistake in my first post. The positions blink a fast RED not green. It's always the same 3 pockets, weather it's one battery alone or 6. it dosen't matter if their old or new, Impres or not. The other positions work consistantly. I have the luxury of having a spare....

impres gang charger malfunction
I have an Impres gang charger WPLN4121BR V3.0. It's been in service for about 4 years. Now 3 of the 6 positions blink a fast green and won't charge the batteries. Is this a fatal problem? A firmware issue? Does that tiny hole under the status light do anything?
Thanks

A solution I rolled out in our Department sends "pages" to individuals cell phones using software. It's an easy way as most everyone has cell phones. PM me if you'd like the link. All of the officers in my department have cell phones too. 51% of this project is me being a geek and 49% is ...

Re: advice on Minitor V
Ok, so it took me a few months to get around to doing the QC group. Marc's advice was perfect. It works great. Now I'm trying to do the impossible. Is it possible to have individual pages and an all call? We have several positions that can be called out individually and a working fire all call tone.

Re: advice on Minitor V
WOW, Thanks for the walk through. My programming laptop is at the firehouse but once I'm done with days off I'll try this. We do page out on our primary channel, and we do use MDC IDs. Thanks again for the help everyone. I'll update in a few days with my progress. Our city IT guy had this website blo...

Re: advice on Minitor V
Marc, I'm the comm guy for my department, by default. Our city is part of a UASI grant program and we got radios and some training for me with the money. I went through a 3 day, M sponsored programming class but I'm not an expert by any means. I'm a little intimidated by doing a QC channel. Is the s...

Re: advice on Minitor V
We're using XTS-5000 portables. On the amps we do have the factory antennas. They don't seem to fit very well and the plastic hub never feels like it latches onto the connector. I can set up the portables with a page channel but I was looking for the easy way out.

advice on Minitor V
My department uses UHF Minitor Vs. Some guys, only 15 miles or so outside the city report poor reception and missed pages. Their portables receive fine. I would like to experiment with an external antenna on the charger/amplifier base. These guys don't mind a whip on the nightstand or dresser. Our l...

XTS5000 display problems
I work in a relatively busy urban fire department and I have 100 XTS5000 radios in the field. I'm noticing the lines on the display are starting to fail. Is this a common problem? We use the voice announce feature so the display isn't critical. I'm afraid that soon switching zoned may become a probl...

Removing Zetron 4010 from dispatch console
In our dispatch center we have several mobile radios wired into a Zetron 4010. We're simplifying and we only need one radio, but we need 2 desk mics. So my question is really, how many desk mics can I hook up to the accessory port of a CDM mobile? My plan is to remove the Zetron from the work area a...

CDM LS programming
I am familiar with programming conventional CDM mobiles. I was asked to add channels to a LS model and I had some questions. I haven't even read the radio yet. Can I program conventional freqs along with the trunked ones? Are all the LS's 16 channel only? Is there anything I need to do with the acce...

Re: serial cable for XTL radio programming

Re: serial cable for XTL radio programming
I have been using OEM parts. Occasionally the software tells me it's found new hardware and loads the radio head. This dosen't always happen. But that occasionally fixes the problem, confusing me more. I ordered a OEM USB cable and I'll see if the problem persists. Ive used the serial cable with 2 d...

serial cable for XTL radio programming
I have gone through 4 cables trying to program my fleet. the cables work for a dozen or so programming sessions and then go dumb. Has anyone else had problems with these? The last few have been replaced under warranty but it's still a pain to send them back through our parts vendor.
