update
Just to let everyone know, I got the power supply working just the way I want it now. I did as you suggested, Will. I clipped the extra 10k resistor, and that brought the voltage down, but not enough. It was still about 14.5v or so. I went to the local electronics supply house and got some different...

MDC-1200 Welcome
Next time you pass thru Columbus, OH get on the W8LT machine on 442.600 (+ offset) with a PL 114.8 Hz. Almost EVERYONE on there is a motrola fan, and most have MDC-1200 enabled. I used to be a member of that club, they got me started into motorolas. My first 6 ch maxtrac did not have signalling, tho...

My name is Bill, and I am a radio Addict. Cheap Japanese amateur gear was the gateway drug, got me into the hobby. Then it was uniden scanners that fed the addiction. Then came Motorola. I am hooked on motorola now. Everything else seems inferior. I might as well list what I have: Motorolas: 1 UHF M...

thanks, susan
Thanks for the info, Susan. I did some searching around, and found out this was the base supply for the MCX-100. There were 2 models listed, TPN1136A and TPN1154. The 1154 is the heavier of the two supplies, and has 2 pass transistors instead of one. Looks like it should run a 25-30 watt radio no pr...

thanks for the info!
Thanks for the information, Olivier! I was just hoping I could get it to display a frequency, or some other sort of info. I guess I will have to move up to a newer radio for that. I still like this radio, it has very nice audio and has a very solid feel to it, unlike the Yaewood/Alincom  type ...

GP300 5-Tone Display Question.
Just wondering what are the capabilities of the LCD display in the European select-5 version of the GP300? Can it display more than just the ch#, like an alpha-numeric tag, or even a numeric tag? I didn't see any options in the RSS to modify what was displayed. I only saw options to disable/enable c...

GP300 Select 5 programming problem
I recently acquired a 16ch GP300 select-v (with the LCD display). When this radio is programmed (with the proper RSS, I know there is a special one) The codeplug is read for a few seconds then it returns a "codeplug error -2" and I can go no further. This radio has not been hacked, at leas...

TPN1154A Power supply...max output current?
Hello, all. I recently purchased a TPN1154A Motorola power supply. It looked like a pretty nice power supply, and it was cheap. Could someone please tell what kind of current this unit is rated for? I see the AC input is fused for 5amps, so would the output be somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-30a...

Thanks Will, that will save me further problems once I get a codeplug to reload into this badboy. I am able to read all the softpot settings from the radio, and have them set aside for safe keeping (or re-entry). Perhaps I should clarify my problem: My problem is: I tried to do the .mdf file hack an...

Maxtrac UHF code plug needed.
Hello, I screwed up the code plug in my UHF maxtrac radio, and need to reload it. The model number of my radio is: D34MJA7DA5_K (16 pin logic board) If someone could email me a code plug, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks,
