I think it really sucks that you have has suck rotten luck with your local PD. Over here in Monrovia, I have had just the opposite happen where they are GLAD that I have the ability to monitor most everything that happens in/around the area. After I spent a few minutes explaining what/why I do what ...

hpandcanon- If you are indeed inquireing for recreational scanning, and you are wanting to listen to a IMBE system, then there is no need for any system key, as you are not transmitting on a frequency that you aren't licenced for, no system key is going to be required. If I were you, I would look ba...

The EX 600 IS a capable radio, however, I would not recommend this radio for EMS use. While it is versitile, I believe any Jedi would fill that role just as well, if not better. The Jedi is a prooven radio, just as a Saber. If the size is what you are after, then I would suggest a VISAR. If channel ...

Besides the fact that the radio is Motorola, I can see no reason to want that radio. It is not terribly rugged, It has a really screwy way of telling you that the battery is low (it beeps incessantly after just a little bit of transmitting), and it has issues with the keypad board coming loose and b...

The XTS 3000 is just like the 3500 that I own with A few exceptions. Those being that the 3000 has 3 boards inside of it, and the 3500 has but a single one. That makes no difference in the overall operation of the radio for the average user. I also believe that the software used to program it is ver...

Just as with any of the new Motorola HT's, don't drop it. They break easy and are a bit expensive to fix properly.Other than that, I like my XTS just fine. Got a 3500, and I use it every day to yap on a couple of repeaters in my area. Will and Mr. Earnhart can attest to the functionality of it. Justin

From all the input I have gathered from various people who have had/have both Motorola and Vertex products, I stand behind the Vertex. I am sold on the durability of the radio as well as the ease of use. I have a XTS 3500, and I have to say that the XTS cannot stand abouse like a Vertex would. I kee...

I think most of us agree that Nick is a decent, Honest man and that his radio's are not junk. This topic has been discussed here many, many times in the recent history. I think it is time to give it a rest. Not much more can be said now without re-telling something that has already been told a thous...
