If it is a GM1200 not "gm1200e", then 01/90 is the same fault as you would get in a mcs2000. They are basically the same. The 01/90 fault is actually generated by the contolled head due to the radio not taking to it within a certain time after power is applied. Causes can be C/head diodes ...

mts2000 dual mode ( conventional and mpt ) standard

Mts2000 h35 with voting option enabled in firmware.

Note the tait is quicker.

With the 800 mhz radios it was usually the first cap on the recovered audio line on the control board. ( check the dc voltages on the first buffer.

The improved antenna should help with all versions of the VHF radio.

Also be carefull using the"broad band " uhf antenna at the lower end of (410 ) the band. And they also shio the same antenna for the 450 - 527 radios even though the antenna is 403-490 mhz.

The radio is a 5 tone version and you require GVN6011 or gvm6011 ( I cannot rememeber)
Note, I raised a quality issue on M regainding the internale / chassis model number differance. But I didnt get anywhere.

The radio may also be microphonic.

1 . Clean all the ground contacts.
2. Reflow all the ground ( around the edge with silver solder.
3. If you have the equipment very carefully reflow the vco using hot air. ( we normally cover the coils, as the will melt)

Its only the USA version that stops at 866 mhz, the internation version works to 869.9875. Also dont use the latest RSS as it had a bug and it does not program a channel above 869 mhz, but the previous version would. Note I suspect the radio is still band limited, as It must be seeing the control ch...

If I remember it was a maxar with a seperate audio board.
Have a look inside the unit. Does it have a metal frame, with a separte board on the right hand side.

I pretty certain 1.42 firmware is closed arcticture, can not be reflashed.

The easy way is to check is to pull the radio apart and see if your control board has flash chips, or a prom.

There are no fuses on the control board.

Depending on the control board in the gp1200, it can be converted.

The earlier radios had a different SLIC chip, that didnt suport the american version of the MTS2000.

Have you considered a MTS2000 5 tone = mt2100?

Sounds like you want 12.5khz but have set the radio to 25 khz.

Syntrx pro was one of the first names M used for the 5 tone version of the MCS2000. You will also see them as M2100.

Software is gvn6011_

Depending on the model the can have 260 channels and are easy to put out of band.

stick to a 386 or a slow 486, as anything faster may read the radio but corrupt the tunning data when you program it. MTS = 486 mot reliable or get the windows version. MDC is not avaible trunking. BUT

Are you using type 1 or type 2 trunking, if type 2 it is possible to program the radio to display the TRUNKING ID of the transmitting radio.

We use the test mode all the time to test the radios. We have a service monitor setup with all the test freqs, and its just a matter of dialing the require channel.

Saves a lot of staffing around if you have to read a radio. Plus some radios are now password locked.

may also be a blown audio chip, they dont lime haveing either side ground. ( its a balanced o/p) ( if the chip is blown they normally have a hole in them)

The Flexible Whip UHF Antenna 400-520 Mhz is actualy its 403-490.
Also we have started using a longer ant in the 403 415 range.

I think it done either 2 or 4 personalitys.

M2100 is the best option as the asfic was difernet between the eurpoen and usa radios. The new MTS2000 have a unervsal asfic that does all formats.

2 tone / 5 tone are completely different. 2 tone sends a combination of tones with tone length of 1 second each. 5 tone sends a tone string ( can be more then 5 tones) with 20/33/40/70/100) tone periods ( depends on system being used. Consider mdc for the ht1000 and 1250. consider a BIN for the others
