You probably should have the radio sys admin program this radio. If you program it wrong, it could mess up a radio system. Be safe and just get a scanner..

It is not legal to decode encrypted transmissions so don't even try unless you want to bunk with Bubba in the Federal Pen.

Well I gave it a shot and when I turned on the radio, the red light blinked twice, then the radio shut off. I tried powering it up again and noting happens, no display and just a quick flash of the top led. I have not tried to read it in case the radio is broken. Any suggestions??

It is best to use a scanner to monitor and not mess with a Moto radio. As everyone has said you can easily cause harmful interference to a legit user. Just be safe!!

I want to program a Moto CDM1550 LS+ to receive an LTR system only and not transmit. My Kenwoods let me not put a TX ID and it won't TX, the CDM does not like that and not putting in transmit freqs. I don't want this to emit any RF if the PTT is pushed. Anyone have any advice?.

You will like an XTS2500. I was in the same boat, started out with a 3000 and bought a 2500. Smaller and lighter, it's a great radio!
