Convert GM660 to GM340

It has been a good few years since I last hacked the GM660 to a GM340 . At the time I battled and tried all avenues and managed to convert one unit . Shortly after that I had to put the project aside and never made accurate notes, Anyone have a step by step procedure for this reflashing from a GM660...

I built the programmer and can read and write ok.

I will be doing the mod on the file to get the band down below 450.

The question is can I mod the Hex to values below the next step being 438 ?

I need 430 to 440 for uhf in my country

I have an old R100. Looking at various posts they mention that it can do Ham band with modified HEX stating 438-470. Our Ham allocation is 430 -440 with repeater TX on the high 439-xxx and repeater RX to 431-xxx. Has anyone successfully modified a H5015B uhf version to this low ? Thanks in advance. ...

Went to site today and removed and reseated the controller card-no change.

Any ideas before looking at reloading firmware which I assume has its own risks.

Here is my final result.

Added an old Icom battery pack charging module/circuit board and it allows me to use any 12V cigarette lighter or Icom wall charger .

Also has no impact on charging in the normal saber charger.

Is there a way to change a code plug from a higher version to a lower version .

My old GP340 is ver 4 and my newer one is version 6.0 which I do not have the software for .

I have managed get the vhf and 900 radio up using the one dash mount head .
I am still without a mic and have not programmed it yet .

In the test mode it came up as ver. 203 .

I powered up both radios and no life-even after I jumpered the dB15 pin 2 and 8. Found the small white fuse Blown in the dash mount head -still not working . It looks like these have been modified and some repairs so I may be trying to get something working that is going to be too much in the doing .

I am new to the spectra range .
I have two Spectra's-one (D43 )is 900mhz trunked and the second is the remote mount chassis(D37) vhf excluding the remote head /mic(awaiting )

Is it possible to swap these two around so I can use the conventional VHF in the mean time .

I am doing exactly , that until I get my charger back .

Using 200 ma and adjusting it as the battery is being charged and when it drops to 50ma I leave it overnight at 20-30 ma.

Painful process but it works for now.
