It may be listed as SLN not CKR in the Harris software. CKR is the Motorola name, SLN is the P25 Standard name. In know in the PRC148 software it is listed as SLN

What is a lot more useful than both COMT and COML is the COMS class. Much harder to get. The class is designed as the FEMA US&R Communications Specialist class. It is offered to the FEMA teams, but if you want you can pay to take it at TEEX. VERY GOOD COURSE!

I use a Dell E6330 with the legacy "slice" and it works great. Have had no problems even with hot swapping it. Prior comments were correct about some connectors being a tight fit.

Yes, you need Bluetooth No, kinda. An APX radio must have the bluetooth board but does not need the flash option to use the Audio items or the kyefob. That's true, there are those large exceptions. But I think TVSJR is correct, too, in that the Feds are really moving fast and aggressively to the VHF P25 trunked IWN. The rural police depts and sheriff agencies are sticking with VHF, while the big cities are generally going to 700/800. Hard to say ...

On a Tahoe PPV SSV, the facotry provided pass there area is on the driver side. The firewall has an area that was designed to have a hole drilled in it with out reducing the crash strengh of the fire wall. Take the extra time and cable and run it on the driver side.

That very well be the new O2 and O4 control heads for the APX4500 mobile as well. The 4500 is based offf turbo. Also the APX4000 is based off turbo with all turbo accy, so the handheld may be an early 4000 as well

The 2nd version of the O5 head works no problem. There is no control head sync file for the apx. When you connect it and power up the APX it will do a firmware update on the head for you

Also, most important.....never connect or disconnect the RSM with the APX powered on. Always turn radio off first. Not like the other radios...XTS, MT, etc. Same when changing the battery, remember you are dealing with a "computer" or SDR software defined radio. This also appiles to the T...

You need to find out what version Harris system it is, then find out what version XTS2500 passed CAP trunking interoperability testing on that platform. There have been a number of updates in the past few years to ensure that they work with MA/COM-Harris and updates to the P25 standards

RSS is DOS based software. It will typically not work correctly in a Windows DOS box CPS is windows based software radios as new as the ASTRO saber, MTS2000 and up.
