See if you can disable per-emphasis during the 4 sec the tones are going out. I asked rec3ently about a preemphasis disable on a Moto mobile and it turned out it had it, programmable input.

cdm1225 pre emphasis disable?

I have a dealer who wants to link using 1225 mobiles, and send 2 tone paging thru to a high power station. Preemphasis will distort the tones, anyone know how to diasble it?

Fiberglass antennas always get hairy. Metal antennas never get hairy. I like DB4xx series meself.

I have replaced the coaxial cables on DBs before(salt/corrosion environment). I'm not sure they're available anymore since Andrew came in. :(

I mentioned before my new boat's marine antenna is GONE. As in broke slap off and a piece of white rg58 is wrapped around the mount. Duracomm LP-14 can be had from Hutton. I use them on Vertex bases all the time. Do NOT use any power supply wit Yaesu written on it. They stink. Well, they used to stink, but then I replaced them. 8) :lol:

Also note that those sticks have a rg8 type pigtail with a MALE N conn., so you need a FEMALE N connector for you coax cable.

Keep in mind, there are 2 MFBs, 4505 for 450-460, and 4605 for 460-470. You really really don't want to use the wrong band antenna---trust me, ok? :o 8) I use them all the time and they're good, tough little sticks. Ditto on the 1503. Seems Maxrad makes really good 450 stuff but their hi band stuff ...

I'm with bernie. I generate with the gen port of my 2600, spectrum analyzer on the 1500 antenna port, signal strength meter on the meter selector. After I align it I throw my big M isolated T inline and check for desense. If none and the loss is ok, then all's well for me.

Sounds like you have a satellite receiver system to me. 1275 hz(the high beep) is commonly used in voting comparator systems as well as in tone remote setups.

So the 4 channels won't do priority scan, and it looks like they won't do MDC either...

Now, how do I tell this customer that his older HT1000s will do wht he wants but his new(er) radios won't?
