Re: CDM-1250 remote head
I realize this is after the fact, but Quickmount also made a dual-head box for the CDM series. The only problem was, they kept burning up and Quickmount just dropped the boxes since they never could fix the problem. Actually, Quickmount was sued out of business by Mother M. IDA bought the business.

The Polaris box doesn't play well with the Sabers, also.
For an aftermarket rib, I highly recommend the Sandy Ganz design. You can get them at www.radiostew.com

Re: HT1000
There is NO DOS in XP. It simply doesn't exist. You can get a command prompt by either typing "cmd" in Start, Run or select command prompt from Start, All Programs, Accessories. Good for pinging, etc but there is no DOS in XP. (Billy G and Stevie B had a better idea)

The dual head kit was made by Quickmount and they no longer sell them because Mother M's legal department said so. The company is now for sale. Mother M does not make a dual head remote mount kit. Unless you get a used one, you're out of luck. I suggest you look at the dual head Kenwood TK690. MUCH ...

My experience with these panels is that they are total POS. To program them with DTMF, you have to send the digits manually and hold them for approximately 1 second to get the stupid thing to recognize it. That's why we use only Communications Specialists or Zetron panels. The Comm Spec panel is the...

A stock alternator and battery will be fine. Remember, you will not be transmitting on more than one radio at a time. Your biggest load will be the 100 watt low band x9000, about 30 amps on transmit. If you do replace the battery, due to age, we use the yellow top optima. Best battery for rugged ser...
