Something is sticking in my head that there was a firmware update to the XTLs about the same time the 131' cables came out that addressed this. Could be wrong, but I could swear it was in the release notes.

the problem you are going to run into is that people that order these typically only order them with the amount of radios they need to flash or in the case of a KVL upgrade, the number of KVLs. I highly doubt someone will want to part with a $600+ flashcard with unused flashes on it.

A 3920 (with our without APX autotune) will not fix that error. Manually aligning the rado will not fix that error. been there done that.. a trip to the depot is the only fix.

The enhancement allows you to check a box to turn the ASK requirement off or on. The radios are programmed with a "home system ID" and only that key with the write protect enable parameter can check the box. Clone only keys cannot.

if you have a 463.xxx output you should have a 468.xxx not 469 input.. UHF in that range is +5 MHz

I suspect the 16.50.20 DSP actually is the "17.00.00" DSP, they just forgot to change the version number. If you look at the feature set, alot of it was introduced in APX 7.00.00. I wonder if they are trying to consolidate the version numbers as close as possible. ie 17.00.00 matches 7.00....

The only radio i have had issues with is the XTS2500s, the XTS5000s and XTL5000 i did all went smooth. The DSP on all is reporting the 16.x version...

Same here... add another 2500 to the brick o matic list... it rebooted to FL 01/82. Fortunatly CPS was able to recover it. Cant wait to see how long firmare 17.00.01 takes to come out.

Well the proper way would be with the programming cable with the round test port, plugged into the test box going to a service monitor. I would start with frequency though, using an off the shelf frequency counter, but i suspect that its going to be deviation and compensation that is your issue. I w...

Radio Configuration -> Secure -> Secure Configuration -> Advanced Tab -> RX Clear Alert Tones

The only other thing i can think of is you have it set to a priority scan channel in the scan list.

the one HT1250 i converted over was extremely deaf at 444.2 and its TXPO was only at 2w at 449.2

Im sure other radios would perform better, but it was tested to spec in its normal bandsplit. My 220 on the other hand works like a champ... gotta love 160ch on 220 with MDC1200!

You also gain windows CPS programability. This could be a huge advantage depending on one's programming set up
