I suppose the APX6000 BN and APX8000 use the same speaker?
Wondering if the KT000010A01 speaker for the 8000 is the correct replacement for my 6000 BN speaker? I believe the one in mine has been cranked up too loud and is damaged.

Same for the ASTRO Saber and XTS3000, you can hex edit the CPS for OOB into 700mhz, but the synthesizer won't lock.
It's better to get an ASTRO25 series radio. They are coming down in price

Re: Motorola CDM750 6 Meter Deviation
I had this issue with a 6m lowband 1250 as well. Never could figure out how to fix it, I read the BSM and re-aligned everything in the tuner but no luck. Gave it back to its owner so too late now.
The GE MLS1 lowband works much better. I made an Excel spreadsheet to calculate hex values for it.

I think it would be fair to say that activity on 2 Meters FM has waned greatly across the whole country. There are a number of factors. The coordinators will say that there there are no available pairs, but what it really amounts to is that there are many pairs being tied up perpetually by people w...

Yeah mine are actually around the same version. They're mid power UHF S split ones and I've had no problems at all with them. You should be fine with that firmware revision.

The MCS2000 uses a SmartRIB, a flashkey, and a CVN file. Latest firmware is R08.??
So far no one has found any other way around this aside from making a UniRIB and flashing it into a European model

Re: Any luck with EX5/600 USB cables from Ebay?
Well I just ordered one with a serial connector straight from China. I've seen some with three pins, others with four, I would recommend buying the one with four pins.
Be careful because there are some mislabeled HT1250 cables being marketed for the EX series.

Update: I have corrected this issue. To help anyone else, if you are using a Prolific chipset for your USB cable you must roll back the drivers to version 3.2. Re: DAYTON 2017! Who's in? The official 2017 thread
Yeah flea market was really good despite all the mud. Lots of DMR XPR6550's there and saw a few APX radios for sale as well. Bunch of XTS and ASTRO Sabers for sale as usual. Even an XTS2250. Lots of super cheap $1-$5 OEM speaker mics. Got some really nice mics new in bag for $5. Also some great deal...

I have had success using OEM and non-OEM RIBs with the MCS2000. However even using an OEM RIB have had issues programming certain radios through the control head, so I recommend building a cable that connects directly to the accessory connector on radio. If you look on Repeater-builder the steps are...

Yes. Just hex edit the CPS, it's not hard at all.N7AS wrote:Is a MTS2000 with S split capable of programming down to 440 MHz? Or is 450 MHz the bottom limit?
I have successfully moved S-split MCS2000 and MTS2000 radios to the 440 ham band with no issues. Usually around 435MHz the VCO won't lock.

You are correct, I have a three slot I-TECH BMS and it only supports NiCD and NiMH batteries, it never got an upgrade for LiON. It originally was only NiCD but a there is a firmware chip in it that can be replaced with a newer one.

Re: Motorola Radius GM1200 (M01RFL9CK4DN)
I think your GM1200 is very similar to an MCS2000, so here's how the monitor button works on an MCS. All the monitor button does is switch between tone squelch and carrier squelch. If you press and hold the monitor button for a second, it should display a squelch adjustment option where you can open...
