Thanks. Have heard similar from others -- and don't want to risk bricking the radio by screwing around with the tuner too much.

Waris (CDM1250): Limit Tx power on a Personality basis?
Hi - Wondering if there is a way to impose a power limit on a specific conventional personality, using CPS. I'm thinking about putting the five MURS frequencies into my VHF model CDM1250, but since the allowable power on those freqs is so low (2 watts max. output) and I don't want to set the Low Pow...

KB4MDZ,
Many thanks for the very helpful reply. I'm coming to a similar conclusion re: "will the parts and labor be worth the time spent experimenting."

CDM1250 out to headphones: “Cable 62”?
My goal is to use the CDM’s accessory port to send listenable audio to a pair of headphones. Closest accessory I’ve found so far is a cable on eBay marketed as #62 (see link), which terminates in a 3.5mm male audio plug and is used to record audio using a computer’s sound card. https://www.ebay.com/...

Re: One of two CDM1250s not seen in CPS
Sonofagun, it worked. So, powering the radio on or off (via the head unit) doesn't seem to matter, as long as the radio's connected to power during the read/write procedures. Seems counterintuitive...

Re: One of two CDM1250s not seen in CPS
Good idea, I'll try that tonight. I guess I thought the head unit needed to be attached in order to generate the "I'm syncing, don't unplug me" and "I'm done syncing" audible tones, but I guess watching the status bar in CPS will give me the same information. Slowly but surely I'...

One of two CDM1250s not seen in CPS
Troubleshooting a programming problem and hoping I am not missing something obvious. Thanks for your patience. I have two CDM1250s, a UHF (403-470mHz) and VHF (136-174mHz) model. These were eBay finds from separate sellers, so I don't have a lot of info on their history. CPS version is R06.10.02. I ...

Windows 7 in a VM ok? (was Re: CDM Series, Windows 7, Radio doesn't re-boot after write.)
Advance warning that I'm a newb, and still very much in learning mode. I have the opportunity to acquire a couple of CDM1250s (one UHF, one VHF) and am trying to piece together what the process of programming one will look like. I'm a little concerned by comments that CPS and the required cables see...
