The problem, as far as I know the XTL5000 are not supported any more.

Sounds like two heads are better than one. I'll have to rethink my options. I need at least, that the Aux radio scanned, full-duplex is nice, but not required.

A weird Idea maybe. Idea better if your a HAM too... Use two VRS one on VHF one on UHF (revers of the radio connected). To receive them at teh same time. Bummer.
I want a P25 and FM transceiver, and have a small car. Not much room left over for two more radios. I wanted to look at what available used older radios that I can afford. XTL are right on that line. The only real option is the Kenwood NX-5700 with duel radio. But thats too expensive.

Hi,

I really like the Syntor x9000 radios. However, they do have the lower 250 Hz to 500 Hz muted it seems. My FT-857d has fuller audio, that someone listening on a Syntor x9000, can even here. I was wondering, if anyone knows of a sw or hw switch to allow more lows through the mic circuit?

The 6m antenna is 1/8th wave, this is more like a short i suspect. These are my best guesses... Any way, I cant wait to see how it works and over ...
