It sounds like your KVL is ASN (uses PID mode in the radio) trying to load in CKR mode or ASTRO25 (uses CKR mode in the radio) trying to load in PID mode.

CDMA StarTACs aren't that retro. They are more than capable of working on any other CDMA network if they allowed new activations for phones without embedded GPS.

I didn't have any issues that Tim described above, but something sure isn't right even though a Model 1.5 is no longer limited to 96 modes. :-) Did you have any issues with the DSP being upgraded to 16.50.20 instead of the correct version of 17.00.00? I have seen this issue is pretty much universal.

FW 17 is completely screwed up. It took me about 30 minutes to upgrade a 2500. CPS17 took about 20 minutes to just read the codeplug.

HOST version upgraded to R17.00.00 just fine, but DSP got upgraded to R16.50.20. What the hell Moronola!

The 3000 isn't flashportable and does not support AES. You would need a KVL3000+ or KVL4000 with AES flashed in. The KVL3000 most certainly is flashportable. If the radio is on an Omnilink system, it could be because there can be 4 different system ids. It will give you an out of range error if the site you are trying to monitor is transmitting a different system id than the one it is expecting.

I know that. Motorola released CPS 7 on the 21nd, and in the release notes it lists new features that require HOST and DSP 7, among them, QCII was not listed. That is why I said CPS 7, because HOST and DSP 7 has not been released yet.
