There is a dual access PL 110.9 or P25 - NAC293 on Usery Mt.
448.725Mhz minus offset.

I have a D44 KXA7JA5BK - Spectra that I want to change to an A7 head. I have a working A7 head off a 900Mhz Spectra. I have changed the location 6060 to ED from AF with Spectra LAB. Now the problem is after installing the A7 head, the transmitter stays keyed as soon as it is turned on - with no mic ...

You might try to replace the cap's in the transmitter audio chain.
They sometimes dry out after 30 + years.

I have a D44KXA7JA5BK Spectra. When I go to change the name of a mode I have a problem. Using Ver R06.00.05 RSS, when I change the name from " mode 1" to something like "449.000" the "." is displayed as" \ " in the display. like 449\000 What am I doing wrong ?

Yes it can be done.

All that is required is a little bit banging.

The extra 4 channels are displayed as unique combination of segements.

Its normal for the MICOR repeater. You might check the shields to see if they are RF tight.
If not clean up the finger stock/chassis to decrease the siginal leaking out.

Yes & no.

There are jumpers in the mic that can change the operation of the buttons.

Acording to the book, J40301 (the power connector on the rear) has 5 pins in use.
Pin # 9 = ext DC in (goes to F18002 - 7 1/2A fuse)
Pin # 7 = AC in (goes to one side of xfmr)
Pin # 8 = AC in (goes to F18001 - 1 1/4A slo blo fuse and then to xfmr)
Pin # 10 = Gnd
Pin # 11 = Ext. Battery charger

If you have hear clear on, it has to be on for both radio's.

The problem I have run into is using non Motorola radio's on systems that have hear clear enabled - they sound like Sh*t ! , so alot of the times hear clear is not used.

I have seen mini UHF adapters at Radio Shack.

It is a voice compression system.

It is suppose to make the audio more like real speach - with out the frequency - response- roll off you get with the 2.5KC deviation.

The T-band Micor comes in different ranges. 406-420 Mhz, 450-470 Mhz & 470-512 Mhz. Depending on which range you have, determines how much work you have to do to make it work. If you have a low split radio (easly identifed by - it's removable offset transmit oscillator crystal) it should come on...

Best bet would be to find someone in your area that has a service monitor to assist you.

Second , find a local radio shop to do the work for you.

With out the proper tools you won't get all the performance the radio could do.

I use 1/4" super flex.

Its like hard line but very flexable.

If the red dangling wire is connected to the DB-15 connector on the back of the radio.(the same plug that the speaker is hooked to),
it is ignition sense wire.
You need to hook it up to switched + 12 V through a 3 amp fuse.
