Re: CDM power source thru the FW for 09Chevy T balzer.

I disagree with both prior comments. i ran a remote mount CDM1550 with the chassic under my rear seat wired into the power center there with no problems whatsoever with TX or RX. i also mounted the antenna for a second radio on my fender as well as ran wiring for front warning lights and wigwags wit...

Re: Anyone using Hideaway LED's

i have just installed a set of amber vertex's in my front marker lights on my trailblazer. they came out quite well. and at $140 a set they were much cheaper than strobe hideaways. i just recieved a set in red yesterday and i will be installing them today in my brake lights. i think they are definat...

Re: Running strobe cables (Pickup)

i have run strobes in both backup and brake lights on both a ford explorer pickup and an f150. i usually mount the strobe pack under the rear drivers seat and drill a hole in the floor under the seat directly to the undercarriage and seal it with a grommet. i then snake the cables through the unders...

no

not of the top of my head, but you can buy one on ebay for around $25 ... probably cost you more than that to build your own .... the secret to the ribless cable is the rib that is actualy inside the plug ... actually isn't much of a secret

wrong

you need headlight flashers that will work with DRL ... try soundoff ... they work well ... place to mount near passenger headlight and the wiring harness for the DRL is right in the frint below headlighrt also ... relatively easy to wire up ... as long as you have the right flasher

ahhh ... i was afraid of that ...

i am not a fan of the A3 head i have seen ... it is not alphanumeric nor does it have the same buttons/options. also it has a very old/archaic look/feel to it ... i would basically like a head that is handheld version of my A5 or relatively close to it ... anyone have any options/sugestions for me?

W3 head on a B5

hi, i am relatively naive in the workings of the older /V\ radios and have searched on this this topic and have not come up with any concise answer. i have curently an 800mhz B5 spectra with the remote kit. the replacement plate on the drawer has the 2 DB25 ports. the control head connection is just...

hmmmm

i had a stubby antenna for my MT1000 lowband when i got it ... the stubby worked for crap so i bought a longer one and trimmed it to my frequency (just like a mobile) ... i don't know if it was meant to be that short or somebody got overzealous with the tuning.

i just saw something related to this in the new CPS ...

... you can have the radio sense for voltage and adjust the radio to operate according to it so as not to drain your battery or something like that ... chances are it is sensing the battery is crapping out and adjusting accordingly ... it is emitting the beep to let you know it is running in that mo...

spectra AVL problem

i recently bought a 800mhz spectra A5 that was converted to a an Auto Vehicle Locator (AVL) ... it programs fine, but does not transmit from the palm mike ... the radio also has another perculiar anomaly ... when you apply power to the ignition wire on the accesory plug, the radio turns on by itself...
