I did leave out that I need MDC1200 caps. The only problem from what I see on the Kenwood is that this requires an option board for MDC and ICOM does not appear that it is able to do MDC at all. If I am wrong on ICOM, please point me in the right direction. If ICOM offers MDC as an option, whats the...

CP200 questions
A couple of the guys at the FD are thinking about buying Minitor IV's. I suggested that they consider a CP200 due to the price being comparable to the Min IV. This would give them QCII and the ability to transmit. Anyone familure with its transmitting capabilities? Good, Bad or whatever. Thanks, Mike

Ok, here is what I am attempting to do: 1.) Walk in rescue. Run 1 VHF mobile radio with two control heads. Using either CDM1250's or 1550's. I know I need a remote but what piece do I need to connect both control heads to the same radio? A model number might help here. 2.) CDM mobile set for EMERGEN...

X-pand and MDC
Anyone familure with X-PAND: Does 12.5khz mess with any MDC signalling you may have at transmit? Do other radios in the fleet need to all be switched to 12.5 to function properly with MDC encode and decode?

The IS batt. is new while the other batt. is about 3 years old. I have 4 batt's total that I cycle through once every 4 days. and they seem to last longer than the IS batt.

I have seen these same EBAY radios. You can program them either way. The add is a little confusing to someone not familure with 1550's and gives the impression that only 16 Conv. chan. can be programmed which is not the case.

Depends on if it comes with the programming key as well as the appearance and the age of the battery. Does it come with a mic? Etc.
All things above considered, $500.00 is a reasonable price.

HT1550XLS Battery issues
Guess this question is for those who have a 1550: I have two batts. One is Intrinsically Safe and the other is a NiMH 7.5. The Intirns. safe batt. seems to only last around 12 hours (No Scan or Xmit) the NiMH lasts nearly 24 hours. Any clues here? Anyone have the same problem?

I had this issue using Windows ME. Not sure why but if you put the radio in the charger abd attempt to read/write while the radio is in the charger, it worked half the time.

QUICK CALL II - explanation for us confused kids
I am setting up several HT1550XLS radios. I am enabling QCII on all. There are three tone groups that need to be added to the radios. I am looking at the QCII system and see the call format with various formats. AB/CD AB/AC and so on. My understanding is this; (FORMAT AB/AC) Depending on the tone it...

Actually, I did a search prior to posting. I posted after finding NOTHING on the topic. Even being new, I searched to see if the issue had already been discussed.HumHead wrote:Have you tried using the search feature? This has been covered a number of times previously.
But thanks for the info anyway!
