Re: Motorola DTR410?

The voice is digital, but it's about the best sounding digital I've heard (HDTV spared  )... It definately hops around a lot. I was able to see it on a signal sweeper receiver (IC-9500). Freq counters, Close-call, Signal Stalker are useless for this (not to mention they couldn't decode the audi...

Re: SAM + QUANTAR = HELP

I'm looking for a similar solution (but we're only at 1280' 8) ).

In the interim, we have programmed it as analog-only and used the MPL list as described in other forum topics. Apparently MPL is not compatible with mixed mode....

Anyone???

Re: Astro Net ID Programming Question

If you have one radio that isn't programmed for TG operations, it should unsquelch on any TG transmission (with the right NAC), but the radios programmed for the TG operation shouldn't be able to hear the non-TG enabled radio. The way that I look at it, the TG is like a 3rd squech (behind signal &am...

A - BB - CCC

IE What A =, what B = and what C =.
A = Area code (usually 01)
BB = Hore repeater - 1 to 20 - like LCN for EDACS
CCC = Talkgroup ID (per home repeater)

Re: LTR Programming

Concerning programming an M1225LS, say, I've got a DEC LTR TG ID of 0-01-123. Now, in the 1225 LS RSS, it gives me the option of RX LOW ID, RX HIGH ID, Inhibit LOW ID, Inhibit HIGH ID, and Group TX ID. Now, where the heck does 0-01-123 (as our example ID) play into these factors? This is my first e...

XTVA - no Audio on TX

Here's the problem: I have an XTVA that I plan on using with a XTS3k. I have the standard palm mic (actually two of them, one of which does work on an MCS2k), and the XTS3k has 7.xx Host/DSP. When I put the radio (with RF adapter) in the XTVA, the keying the mic will make the radio TX, but there is ...

Audio settings on XTS3000

One of the users of a radio system I talk on (mixed mode, conventional) seems to have an exceptionally deep voice. While talking in P25, all the radios I have listened on seem to have a hard time with the low tones of this audio. On a handheld, the audio is so low pitched, that it seems to vibrate t...

No digital scanner required. I used it on an analog-only Uniden BC-780 without a problem. I could not get it to work with an older PRO-94 though. Just remember you need that discriminator audio! Earphone/speaker jacks don't work.

In case anyone hasn't seen it yet...

New software just released. Take discriminator audio out of your choice of radio, plug into soundcard. Run Program. :)

So any or all Quantar or Quantros are able to pass IMBE? I have been wondering if you need to look for a certain DSP or something - like on the HT/Mobiles for P25. If so, one would just need the quantar/ro repeater with what options? I've seen some for sale with wireline cards and all that stuff. Wh...

Well, it does say "REAR CONTROL HEAD" on the back of the head. My friend's that had the volume that worked on here did too though. I just tried swapping the pot with the other "questionable" face, and have the same problem. Is there something else it could be? Are rear heads not ...

Which pins should read what? I verified that the "push button" function (to turn the radio on and off) works. I could not get much resistive change one any combination of pins I tried while turning the knob (that's why I thought it needed to be replaced). I don't think it's a rear head, bu...

MCS2000 Model III head - no volume control

I have a UHF high-power remote mount MCS2000 that will not allow adjustment of the audio volume. It is set at a volume that is understandable inside, but probably wouldn't be acceptable for a mobile environment. I tried a second head on there (a spare that we weren't sure was all "good"), ...

XTS300 codeplug

Anyone have a codeplug for a HO9RDF9PW7BN (Model II) XTS 3000?

R07.04.00
DSP 07.03.16
EMS R03.43
1 MEG
Flash: 580008-000000-3

Getting the "codeplug too new" problem. Only have DOS RSS (yes, I know it's old).

Thanks in advance!

If you do have one of the old boards, is it easy (and relatively cheap) to change to the 2.5 board? Is that #HRN6014x part easy to find/buy? Basically, is that the only part that matters for the 2.5k steps?

Someone mentioned "newer RF boards" that will do smaller step sizes. I'm starting to look for an Astro Spectra - is there something in the model# or anything that I can look at to determine if it has this newer board? I would like something to do a 7.5 kHz spacing. Will the older boards do...
