Sound like DTMF Post PTT ID. This is done in the DTMF config. I'm not too familer with the XTS software but look for DTMF and it should be under that.

Make sure the Model number matches up and the band split is correct this will cause this problem. You may have to select use RSS tuning values I believe it is F2 when writting the radio. Not F6.

With MTS2K the only pre PTT tone you can get is the MDC1200 Sidetone. Which is a long beep prior to transmitting a data burst. Can be set to various times of delay. It can get annoying after a while.

I have had the same issue, it happens mostly when I have my portable volume too high and I use the mobile or vise versa, or if I'm standing next to someone at the time and their radio is on. You can either turn the DOS, time to 0 or turn RX signalling to none if you can. the best way is to turn DOS HOLD OFF to 0.0
This will allow the complete Data Burst to heard over the air.

I have replaced one of these switches on a Saber 1E with emergency button. I bought the rubber switch with button on the top and I was able to work it over the shaft with a little TLC without removing the shaft. I would assume the plastic switches you will have to take the radio apart.

Ya could be, there is no labels on the back and the acse does look very new, it's an ebay gem. Everything else works good and I am gettng a tone to sound but it's almost like keypad lock is on but there is no button that i programmed for keypad lock. I don't know. Modat??? Negative. Just MDC. Have the radio set up for MDC1200 Pre PTT ID, with sidetone enabled and you will get a short beep when you first press the PTT button. Your radio ID will also be sent over the air in data burst form. (the squak noise) Which can be decoded by a varity of decoders.

If there is 2 distinct data bursts, then the person has the radio programmed for MDC Repeater Access, and MDC PTT ID this would cause a duel burst. The first is an ID to open the repeater and the 2nd is the identify the radio (ANI). Very annoying.

HT1250, HT1550XLS and some MTS2000 and MT2000 A7 (front display), if flashed properly for MDC decode and Caller ID is set to Alias List. CDM1550 and CDM1250 also do this feature.

I usually drag those 2 columns over so they are hidden and only the Date/Time, PTT ID and Description show. Makes it a little easier to read.

I use this software at home, on my computer, I have a Kenwood TK880 mobile unit with a computer mic in front of the speaker and it works fine. It will decode MDC1200 ID's. Check on ebay, I found one for about 60 bucks. It looks just like the standard Jedi mic only it has the antenna on top and 3 programable buttons on the opposite side of the PTT button. It is for HT1000, JT1000, MT and MTS series and The XTS series.

Not positive but I think, the "secure" feature is enabled on the radio through RSS and there is no secure module present or there is a problem with the module. If thats what it is, it is an easy fix just disable secure feature in RSS and the error message should go away. I had this problem...

Won't work on my MTS2000 Model number H01SDD9PW1BN, flash# 000001-000000-9. RSS says radio model doesn't support any DTMF features. So if you have an MTS2000 that does do DTMF maybe it will work. As far mine it doesn't.

Yes, MTS2000 with top display will decode MDC1200 ID's, mine does anyway. Not sure on the flashcode, but I think if you have the unit flashed for MDC1200 then it should do it. Of course this option must be enabled in RSS (older versions of RSS don't have the option most newer ones do) under Display ...

Seems to be working for some, but not for others. I see some of you can't get MDC and the TPT. I have 2 HT1000s both can do MDC1200 Dekey ID and the TPT trick at the same time. Both are "DN" radios and I'm using software version, R03.02.01

Try programming Bit Sync Packets or Preamble, (the ringing sound) this will give a different sounding ID data burst. On HT1000 or HT1250 steting these to 5 in the MDC1200 Options with a pretime of 500ms is usually a pretty good setting.

I had the same issue, I couldn't get this one HT1250 to read. I was programming 10 of them and all except this one read fine. The problem was I was using an aftermarket rib, (usually works fine) As soon as I used the Motorola RIB no further problems. Radio read fine.
