You need to replace the trunking firmware with conventional firmware. Further details can be found on the Repeater Builder web site.

The Nucleus II rigs I've been working on have a watt meter calibration process you have to go through before you can properly set the output power. It it's so touchy that you can't hear the difference between working and not working, maybe the audio level going into the packet modem isn't quite right. Re: In regard to MaxTrac 800 ceramic filters
They're band pass filters, and they're in the receiver. You probably haven't messed with the ones in the IF, so for the front end you need a pair of Toko #6DFB-902E-10, covering 890 to 915 MHz. These would be a good choice tor an amateur repeater receiver too, since they're centered on 902.5 MHz. 'JK

I think you'll be lucky if it works well over the whole ham band. These radios have tuned circuits that need to be optimized for the frequencies in use. They don't cover the entire split, like the later electronically-tuned radios do.

Look to see if the mounting lugs on the volume/power control are still soldered to the ground plane on the circuit board. While you're at it check for the same on the rotary switch. It seems highly unlikely to me. What is the model number? A special product that differs from the norm should have an SP code at the end (SP01, SP02...), or, if they made a full production run of them, an X at the beginning (X51LLT CHPTran, for example).

Unfortunately, you _can't_ just return to the standard channel complement by using the standard software. Once you use the channel hexed software to program extra channels, you can only use such software until you've removed the extra channels.

I think I've read that the 2 channel radios are missing the RF switch, and the others should have it. Your controller doesn't have an amplifier in it, so it will work on any band. The hole where the RF input connector goes should be covered. You can connect your external antenna directly to the holder. If your portable has the RF switch in it, it will then use the external antenna when it's in the h...

It sounds to me as though when you removed the antenna from the radio, the 5880376L01 antenna adapter came with it. In that case, you need to unscrew the adapter from the antenna and put it back on the radio where it belongs.
