Re: Astro Saber programming help - video

open the db25 rib connector and verify the wire connections to pins 1 15 6 and a jumper between pins 4 11
if you find connections to pins 1 15 8 that is for the analog saber.
the radio end of the cable is the same for both.
hope this helps.

Astro Spectra fail 01/92 is Internal EEprom checksum error so an srecord may not help. the srecord (codeplug) resides in the external EEprom. you can try to enter the service side of CPS go to the alignment and change one softpot setting by one digit save and back out of the service menus just remem...

Welcome to the Board. The analog Spectra will program down to 140 MHz with no mods required, however if I remember correctly may go out of lock about 141 mhz. as for the front end board number, you need to verify that it isn't an HR(E)6004A as that would indicate that some one pulled the original an...

Re: Spectra Astro analog conversion

The Astro Spectra UHF RF board is not range specific except for Range 2 CEPT(low power Motorcycle) 430-470 which uses a coax connection to the VCO.
Range 1. 403-433 3. 450-485 4. 485-512 do not use that connection and it is not placed on the board.
so that gives you some options.

open the connector and see if pin 4 switched B+ and pin 5 ignition sense are shorted together
