I want to thank everyone who had input both publicly on the forum and via pm. I was able to take everyones suggestions ... do some more research .. and present the director with a couple of options. Now we will wait and see what the outcome will be. Again, thank you to all who helped out. -Dakota

The portables are Motorola CT450 & CT250's
Base is a Motorola MaxTrac 100.

My feeling is they are opposed to new equipment, but obviously cost is an issue.

Actually .. you get an approriate rubber grommet, poke a hole in it, thread the wires through, seal with silicone, and it has yet to let any moisture in.

from talking with a compnay that only does police package vehicles ... I as told there was not a good way to put a traffic backer in the newer Rams. That was my understanding at least of it. I figured that having diodes to keep from feeding back would resolve that problem, but I took his word for it...
