Re: CDM 1250 won't power on
I determined that the microprocessor died, don`t know why it just did. I have replaced them before but it is a pain. Found a replacement on Ebay for far less than depot repair, like that would be hard.

CDM 1250 won't power on
I have a CDM 1250 that won't power on. When the on/off button is first pressed the radio beeps, display stays dead and the radio continues to beep. Pin 2 of the control head connector constantly switches between 0 and 5 volts. TP 0151 is constant 5v. output of U0651 is 5v, U0641 is 9.3v and U0611 is...

Re: GM300-Maxtrac PA swap?
On the UHF PA's, look at the solder around the output transistor. In particular look at the bypass caps between the base emitter/emitter collector junctions. Those PA's will get hot enough to flow the solder.

Re: Fair price for a Micom 2TS?
The Micom 2TS can be operated headless using a laptop and proper software. If you are into construction projects, a control head can be built for under $100.00. The control cable is the same as the Motorola MCS2000, the power cable is easy to make, the connector can be bought from Mouser. Informatio...

The shield for the 16.8 osc coil is bad about growing `whiskers` which will detune the osc. remove the shield and clean out the `whiskers`, spray the inside of the can with clear lacquer and install. The interconnect sockets were also bad about growing `whiskers`(with a magnifying glass they can be ...

It can be done. As I recall you will need to modify the spkmic circuit board. compare the two spk mic circuits and you will see the difference.

Re: Spectratac and narrow banding
According to the alignment software what ever you set the tx line level to it will produce at max 60% of whatever you set max deviation to. That why I suggested setting max dev to 4000 instead of 2500. 60% of 4.0kc is 2.4 kc.

Re: Spectratac and narrow banding
Ok I think I have figured out the method to Motorola`s madness. Re: SPECTRA TAC ON FIBER OPTIC LINES
Thanks for the replay. I have the roofing filter, it doesn`t seem to help. My thought is that the phone company`s equipment is processing the receive audio in such a way as to interfer with the voters ability to properly determine signal to noise quality.
