Re: Record TX and RX audio from CDM

Thanks for the input. We had a scanner running to capture the data but it has proven pretty unreliable. My hope was to use the temporary CDM setup because it has an antenna on the building and gets clear audio both ways. The scanner has RX trouble for many reasons. I have and old MaxTrac that I'm th...

Record TX and RX audio from CDM

I am looking for a temporary but reliable solution to record the TX and RX audio from a CDM mobile. The pinout for the rear connector shows pins for both "audio" and "ext speaker". W Which pins (if the radio is cabable) would give me both sides, the Ext speaker will give only RX ...

Re: CPS and Netbooks

Well here is the update: The ASUS Eee PC is working well with a USB-Serial converter and I have been pleased with the results. I found a converter that works well and I have been able to successfully program EX, HT and CDM series radios. The netbook battery life is excellent and its size is perfect ...

Re: CPS and Netbooks

No serial port, but we have been having success with a USB to serial converter. I know it's not reccomended but it is working and at my agency they replace computers rather frequently so serial ports are just about extinct(I havent had a floppy drive in nearly 3 years). The netbook idea seemed inexp...

CPS and Netbooks

Anyone know if a Win XP based Netbook would be compatible with the CPS software? I'm looking for an inexpensive, dedicated soulution for programming in the field.

EX560 and CPS

Does anyone know what version of the CPS will program the EX560? I am a licensed user with a subscription but I was wondering if I have to run the new version we got a couple of months ago or if I can just stay with R06.05.00. 06.05.00 has been good and I usually don't update when I have something t...

What are the prospects for the "S" bandsplit?

Can you mix TDMA and conventional channels in a Zone?

I like what these radios offer but our EX600s and CDM1250s give us a lot of interoperability (between other Gov'ts on UHF). The "R" bandsplit does not cover enough for us.

I have Wiscomm cables for the EX series and the HT series. Both are excellent and include a connector for the CDM series mobiles. For me they were worth the money.

I've seen some of those cables offered on eBay before and they are not so hot. Some don't mount up to the portables well and others just don/t work. When you buy from Hong Kong you have no recourse if you get a bum cable. They also ship out the wrong stuff regularly. Read the feedbacks........ The o...

Hum on frequency....MDC?

I have an EX600XLS, 4 CDM1250s and 2 HT1250s all programmed the same with one exception...MDC. MDC is not enabled on the CDMs and the EX and they receive the frequency in question perfectly.....nice clear audio. The HTs have a terrible hum when receiving on the frequency in question. MDC-1 is set on...

The band split stops at 470. I need 477.15. As far as the MDC....the CPS would not let me set it up. I've heard that 5AN versions of the HT don't/can't do MDC. I find that hard to believe but I struggled with the CPS to no end. I'll admit I'm no programming expert but I know my way around the progra...

Well, the radio is going out to the local /\/\ dealer for repair. Still under the 3 year warranty. I am hoping that it is not just a contrast setting. I hate to be without the EX. I'm stuck using my HT1250....good radio but no MDC and it's band split does not allow me on other agencies in ther area ...

Can't be a connector, the info is there on the screen it is just way too light to read unless you hold it at an angle and study it. If the backlight comes on it washes out the data (too bright) so you can't see it. Sucks because I scan my agency and the surrounding cities.....I need to see what's in...

EX600XLS HELP!!! Screen contrast prob

HELP!! My Motorola EX600XLS screen has gone blank! The info on the screen is there but very faint. Is there a way to adjust the screen contrast? I was using the radio in a EX500 holster and it may have pushed a button combo that adjusted the contrast. The manual says nothing about adjusting c...
