Pro CPS 6.12.09 hack
Ok, I think I have goggled until my fingers hurt and my vision is blurry. I have read the 220 CDM mods thread and it has been several years since anybody touched it. I am running 6.12.09 and I am looking for instructions on how to hex edit it so that I can program 6m freqs into a low band radio. I a...

XPR 7550 DTMF tones too loud from speaker
Does anybody know if there is a way to reduce the volume of the DTMF pad while you are dialing? Is there a setting for that somewhere?

Re: xpr 6580 3600 trunking to digital conversion
Was the radio purchased as a digital radio, or a trunking only radio? If trunking only, you need the EID to upgrade to digital operations. Sounds like your radio is trunking only and need a software upgrade. Yes, it is trunking only... The docs dont say anything about paying to upgrade. It lloked l...

xpr 6580 3600 trunking to digital conversion
I just bought a radio on feebay that was flashed for analog trunking. I want to convert it to the digital feature set. I am running CPS9 and I have downloaded every firmware that I could from MOL. According to the docs this should be easy. Hook up the radio, click on Device>Convert. Select the firmw...

Re: Using a radio to open bay door at fire dept
You can get a DTMF decoder kit and another radio and wire it up to the push button for that bay door.. That way all they have to do is punch the magic code and a relay closes for 1 second and whala!

Re: Extra channels on MCS2000 model 1
This leads to another related question. Can the Mod2's and 3's hold more than 160 modes? If the MTS can do 250, why not the MCS?

I have a UHF MTS2000 that I cannot get MPL to work on. The firmware is 5.60. This radio is flashed for 250ch. I have a list of MPL's defined in CPS, I have a few personalities with MPL enabled.. I have the middle side button set for MPL.. Am I missing something? The radio totally ignores the side bu...

Just to close this thread-- I found the solution.. RSS 1.001. This portable is soo KRUSTY and ANCIENT that it requires a pre-historic RSS to program it. I am good to go..

Re: MTS2000 and mtsxv6.07
I've never seen a firmware version that low...sometimes 1.2x or 1.3x. For sure the CPS will never work with it, even if it is a genuine MTS2000. Since you have LAB, you could try reading it, making the changes you desire, and saving it as a packed S-record. You should then be able to force in the S...

Re: MTS2000 and mtsxv6.07
also note the model number ends in AN, if it is a real MTS2000, likely it isn't CPS compatible which would explain the behavior of the MTS CPS rebooting the radio. IIRC a radio has to have a controller with a firmware ver higher than 5.xx to work with CPS. I had an early AN rev MTS2000 800 with a c...

You might try bypassing the PA on the GM300, just lift the line into the 1st transistors and route that to the antenna connector.
Its worth a shot.

UN remoteheading an MCS2000
I just stumbled into a pile of MCS2000's.. Problem is they are all remote head. Can the remote head parts be removed so the head can attach directly to the radio?
