Check under radiowide or display settings - I can’t remember for sure which one it is in the cps. There is a checkbox for remember dim state. That should fix it.

A further update for others. I used a Belkin F5U409-CU usb to aerial adapter. I installed the Windows XP driver on the virtual machine and it worked flawlessly. I have now been able to read write xts3000 and Astro spectra subscribers.

Take a look at VIrtualBox. You can create 32 bit VMs on a 64 bit host. Also, it's free. I regularly program APX, XTS/L/3k and Jedi using an IOGEAR GUC232A USB/Serial adapter in a Win 7 or XP VM on a Mac OS host. There really wasn't any "tricks" required... https://www.virtualbox.org https...

XTL5000 W-series tib question

Anyone know if the tib on the W3 series high power drawers will work with the other W series heads? Looking at the DSM I can't conclude one way or the other. I am pretty sure the W3 doesn't work with the other TIBs but thought the W3 tib would work with all. Can anyone confirm?

Unfortunately no just the XTL5000. The xtl5000 can take either a W3 or O3 control head with the right tib and flex (for the W3).

If you want P25 watch for deals on mid power Astro Spectras with the W3 control heads. I have mounted the hhch using vehicle specific mounts from proclips. Did you program a button on the DEK for "Siren"? Strange as it may seem the siren functions will not work without first pressing a button programmed for siren which basically turns the siren on and off.

HKN4363 is the cable which I believe has been the same since the regular Spectra radios. If you have a W-series control head you don't need a DEK to control it. If you have the newer O5 control head you will need a DEK.

You can check the model number of the radio and the feature set. Both are found under the radio information section in the CPS. The RB model numbers are -

I'm pretty sure if you do have one you can get it flash upgraded (for a free) at a local Motorola shop.

Any chance the radio is set up with any kind of encryption? If so there is a setting for TX clear alert tone in the encryption settings. Uncheck that and the chirp should go away assuming it isn't a MDC or other signaling indicator.

A couple of things come to mind. Is the wav file saved as a 8.0 khz 16 bit mono file? If not it will not be able to compress. Also do you have the portable connected to the computer when doing the compression?

The thought crossed my mind, but I didn't think the AN came in 8megs which the radio shows it is an 8meg radio when put in service mode. Where would I see it showing on the chassis if it is AN or BN? The radio also shows in the CPS as a BN model number.
