Re: "Portable" spectrum analyzer for filter work?
Nice piece of equipment, but WAY out of my price range. I wanted to stay as close to $1K as possibly. I busted that by $658, but I could justify that. No way that I could drop $15,000 on a piece of test equipment for a hobby.

Re: "Portable" spectrum analyzer for filter work?
Yep. I bought one Monday. I already have an RLB, so I didn't buy that option. It'll be here Friday. I got mine from Saelig for $1658.16 shipped, which included the TG and was cheaper than anywhere else. Do you have one? How do you like it? We have an FSH8 at work and I tried it out in preparation to...

Re: "Portable" spectrum analyzer for filter work?
The 2670 is just not as accurate as I like. I had to keep fiddling with the settings and there was just too much back and forth. I'm now looking at the Siglent SA as the specs were better than the Rigol.
This morning I messed around with a FSH8. It was nice, but too rich for my blood.

"Portable" spectrum analyzer for filter work?
I recently sold my HP8924C due to me purchasing an R2670 with all the bells and whistles. I thought that I could use the 2670 for filter work, but I now regret that I sold the HP as I can't get the same resolution on the 2670. It is absolutely horrible trying to align a BPBR duplexer. The only thing...

When I mentioned that the 7550 accepted the inhibit command, I was referring to the MDC S.I. command from the MC2500 console.

Re: MDC Selective Inhibit - XPR6500 / XPR7550
Most current firmware. They can be inhibited via DMR. They also have 1000 channels and 1000 contacts, which surprised me as they were only 256 channels before the uplift. They are already loaned out at this time. I don't expect to have to inhibit them, but MDC Selective Inhibit it was a nice thought.

Yeah, I was adding the notch duplexer as extra protection. I'm going to give it a shot and see how my loss I have. I'm getting about 15 Watts out of the #2 duplexer and will tune the #1 duplexer when it gets here today. I guess I'll order one of those mobile type notch filters to try it all out. I j...

I have access to one antenna on a commercial site and would like to put two repeaters on this one antenna. We use combiners at work, but that may be overkill for my application as the four frequencies are at least 5 MHz apart. 444.675/449.675 462.625/467.625 Here is a drawing I made up. Do you guys ...

I will second fineshot1's experience as we have factory fuse blocks that are damaged due to the extra width of the blades on those type holders. On a ruggedized issue, the 5000 beats the 2500 hands down. We repair the 2500s SMA, buttons and knobs daily as they are soldered directly to the board. We don't see nearly the amount of 5000s as compared to the 2500s.

The radio should be able to have 10 conventional frequencies programmed as it is right now. Trunking will not affect those 10 channels. That radio should do 10 channels conventional right now, if I'm not mistaken, but if it's going to be conventional only, just change the firmware to 5.34 (conventional PROM) and blank and reinitialize it as a 32 channel high signal. Then, you don't have to do anything other than leave the tx blank i...
