Posting photos allowed?

Hello All,
I haven't been here in a while. i posted a question that i had a photo to go all along with... but for the life of me i couldn't find the "upload" button.
mY question is are photos allowed or do we have to link the photo or something else...

You can't upload images here (except for avatars), you can only link to ones hosted on other sites.

I would imagine that this is because of one of, or a combination of these reasons:
Hosting images uses up disk space on the server.
Hosting images uses up bandwidth on the server.
Hosting images carries with it legal problems such as copyright issues.

If you do plan to use images in a post, try to host them somewhere that will be around for a while. A lot of us used to use a popular hosting site that let you have a free account, but at some point they disabled linking from free accounts, so there are a lot of old posts here where the images no longer show up.

I wonder how other sites do it... but ok.. I've been here too long to start complaining now.

Well, Flickr still works utilizing the "Share Photo" option, along with a portion of the BBCode option. I've been on Flickr for quite some time, but I believe they're still free, for the first few hundred photos. Something to consider.
