Is the PC a fast PC? Are you running it in DOS mode not a Dos Box, Cable problem. Also check the list for a bunch of tips on setting up your PC depending on what it is.

I'm interested in seeing the replies to this thread. I encountered this same exact error with a depot fresh MT2000. It would not let me read the codeplug no matter what I tried. My friend finally ended up taking it to the local Moto shop for programing.

I am using a Dell 486/33 desktop with 16 meg of RAM, a original Motorola RIB and one of Monty's fine Jedi cables. The Dell is running MS DOS ver 6.0. I have nenver had a problem with this set up. I have read/wrote MTS2000s, MT2000s, HT1000s and mid power Spectras. I'm using what I believe the latest MT/SX RSS- R06.07.00 Nov 14, 2002.. . . .

Try to clean the contacts of the MT2000. You can use a pencil-eraser.

Good luck,

Hello:

One thing for sure when dealing with MTS2000's

YOu better make sure you have a Stable Program
Platform !

This includes a good cable with Pogo Pins that are
not bent or damaged, Known suitable Rib Box
( Motorola one highly recommended ) for that series
of radio, and a known good computer with a Error
Free hard Drive.

Its "very risky" to try and Program any of these
high tier radios with a poor program platform.

Damage the Code plug in MTS radio, you could easily
be out 300.00 in the restoration of the radio.
