I got an error message when I tried to enter a hex code in a
talkgroup. My question is, does the control channels limit the hex
codes you can enter?

Re: Talkgroups and control channels
I recently programmed a codeplug for my STX-821. No, the control channels do not limit the hex codes you can enter. If you get your info off of trunkedradio.net and use their Hex talkgroup IDs, then you must drop the last digit of the given talkgroup (for example E020 would program as E02. A057 would have to be programmed as A05).firemarshal wrote:I got an error message when I tried to enter a hex code in a

Now, if you are programming typeI into an STX, the site controller transmits what fleets are used through the size code (alpha digita A-Q).
If not either, then what error do you get and what does it say?
